He uses a tablet, I believe. How much easier this makes it, I don't know.

Here's a quick sketch (and a quick shading) of how could, hypothetically, a marksdwarf really look like.

In my opinion one can't draw anything good with a mouse :). You need either to draw it on a paper first or use a tablet to make it look good.

Well, as I said he draws it on a paper first. And he does have an awesome style, I don't remember seeing anything like that anywhere yet.

For an end semester project we had to make an ad for a 'non-existent' product and write a report on it.

Well we all know there's no such thing as Dwarf Stronghold   ;)

What's more badass was that my professor actually ended up knowing about the game. (hadn't played it though)

You have subtle but extreme wrongness of advertising painted perfectly. Especially the game notes on the back of the box. I think the rating is correct, since it doesn't render the horrifying details. Although it doesn't seem like Bink Video should be listed...
What was the report focused on? What are the chances it will get your professor to play Dwarf Fortress?

Imagine a cool peice of sky-blue and milk-white marble about 3cm by 2cm and by 0.5cm, containing a tiny 2mm malacolite crystal. Now imagine the miles of metamorphic rock it's embedded in that no pick or chisel will ever touch. Then, imagine that those miles will melt back into their mantle long before any telescope even refracts an image of their planet. The watchers will be so excited to have that image too.
