It was an artifact right gauntlet, but the dwarf who made it was a bit odd. When the champion decided he wanted to use it, well, we all make sacrifices.

As long as we're pointing out inconsistencies, notice that one leg is bent at a right angle, the other leg is straight, but the feet are adjacent

Perspective and angled hips. His right hip is angled forward and he's leaning forward, meaning the perspective puts his feet near each other.

The big question is why he's in that position; given the stance he's taking, he should have his right leg elevated and his left foot on the ground, at the moment he's hopping forward on his right leg.
