As an extension of what I posted here, I'd like to challenge you guys to do something relatively simple.

Draw me a hood.  Rather, draw me a series of hoods that distinguish themselves as being an elven hood, a human hood, a dwarven hood, and if you want, a goblin or kobold hood.

They are just a simple symbol in the game.  But what do you see them as?

I'd really like to see some from fault, Deon & Sebby, but everyone is invited.  I have no artistic ability, or I'd contribute.

A sketch of a dwemer armor. It currently belongs to a dwemer Khamero, who is a legendary wrestler and a compenent marksman in my "Dwemer Fortress: The Elder Scrolls" mod community fortress.

sorry to beat a dead horse here, but that is still some pretty impractical armour.

-the helmet has a big hole in the front, you don't need to expose that much of the face
-the chestplate has some pretty big holes located near vital organs
-the pauldrons and the gauntlets seem to have no way of attaching to the rest of the suit

I think the chainmail just has an oddly shaped plate attached to the front.
Seems to defeat the purpose of chainmail being more mobile without adding any defensive capabilities.
Also, the gauntlet just looks like a bunch of loose plates.

I don't know who that is!
I based it off a scarecrow hood, actually.

*facepalm* again :D

- The helmet is drawn without a visor. That "hole" is usually covered
- That's not a plate, it's a cloth or leather which has some weird "anatomy"-like shape and is just laid over the chainmail, I was just lazy to color it properly (or it's dyed :P)
- Those plates are the gauntlet, and it's not worn without a leather glove, so they are simply attached to a glove. The leather part is not drawn (in the same way as DF doesn't recognise any material besides the "base" one.

This armor is practical, you just fail to imagine it in a useful way :). Come on, you play ASCII game and you make up things from letters, you can easily try and imagine missing parts of the suit, don't be a snoot.

Hmmm... Hoods you say?

I felt sketchy and I've got this weird desire to use MSPaint again, I don't know why :). Here are the hoods:

Or try FUBAR! The best chocolate bar ever!
And you can't eat them, either, sadly. Even though it'd make sieges so much more fun; dwarves lining the walls, drooling and carrying sharp knives and forks, ready for the upcoming meals.

Except in Dwarf Fortress those cats would all be dead with their skins used to make a hood like that.
