Huzzah! This is awesome. Time to change my desktop picture :).

P.S. You have an awesome fire and lighting coming from it. Did you practice lots of tutorials/specific tutorials or is it your own style to draw it?

Thanks Deon! I just much around with settings and colours, I haven't done many tutorials, except maybe some on anatomy.

By the way, the idea is cool.

The idea is close to mine:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Adventurers at enrance, critters inside. My pic is quite "cold", while yours has the warmth and action.

P.S. I wish we could make a "draw a DF cave" contest :). Maybe we should?

It is also beautiful in the same way that a cavern can be breathtaking.

That could easily be the new cavern stuff. Maybe add a crystal formation or two and it would look even better.

Nice looking critter (Kobold I think? or a lone goblin?) in the darkness there.

It was supposed to be a kobold, considering the size of it and the dwarf on the background.
Also, the purple-ish shrooms are plump helmets :D.

I've just played Kobold Quest before I drew it, so that's where I took the inspiration.

A bit hard to tell the scale though since that dwarf looks pretty far away.

Yea I noticed those mushrooms. Theres also the pipe fungi in the foreground, the conical capped ones and the long stalked ones. What the scattered fuzzy clumps are in the foreground that look like clumps of grass but aren't, I am not sure. They could pass for some sort of mineral formation, or maybe they are cave urchins.

Heh, it's a "black fodder", a cave plant from my mod, which is basically a grass which has a special extract.
All the fungi from that mod too.

OOH! Wonderful, Deon! The ground though seems a little... Level, though that's offset by all the stuff growing in it. I like the use of the bat and it's shadow. I like your use of cool colour, kind of like everything is either a cool or warm gray, which I guess is what happens with 1 source of distant lighting.

EDIT: What the CRAP? Spelling errors gahh.

Wow, I think I love that font. Great picture, too.

Gerjenbsil, Hero of the Kobolds!

Apparently standing on a hilltop in a thunderstorm holding a copper sword.
The angular, simplistic kobold is a deliberate stylistic choice, the absolutely awful lightning bolt is laziness.

And like a poorly drawn lightning bolt, I strike again! Frisblidib the kobold locked in combat with an elven herbalist.

The dagger needs a bit of work because it looks like the kobold is stabbing the elf in the eye with a stick.

Even if it were a stick, it still looks cool.
