Yea, I saw that linked over on the Stonesense thread and with the blue sprites. I think its a pretty cool looking movie.

Still, blue elves are a bit alien for DF IMO. If they were Dark Elves/Deep Elves/Drow, then a deep blue skin could make sense. I still imagine DF elves as having similar skin tone ranges as humans, although tending on the tanned side.

Hehe, yeah, that was a kind of a joke. I think I will go with "normal" elves in the comic, but let the one blue be to remind of the upcoming movie .

The particulary awesome thing about that is that the Elves in DF, being Feral, Cannibalistic Tree-Loving Warmongers, are actually pretty similar to the sort of tribal culture shown in Avatar.

All things considered, if you chop the tails off the Avatar aliens, they'd make pretty nice DF Elves; pointy ears, somewhat feral and animalistic, tribal, in commune with nature etc. It's original and different, and i fully support it.

I'm sick of Elves being tall, fair and better than you, it'd be nice to see some more animalistic elves that actually make sense, considering the origin stories that the Elves are deriven from, and the way they act in DF.

I don't know, aside form the way they act, I always pictured DF elves as looking exactly like the standard strereotype of elves. And the boatmurdered comic is supposed to introduce new people to the DF universe.. I don't know if such new people would recognize naked blue people as elves.

Also, Deon, don't you usually draw elves as naked six-fingered greenskins?

The smiley was supposed to indicate silliness. Although to be fair, if you're having trouble picturing Elves as anything other than the stereotype Tolkien so effectively thrust upon Western Media, then i do have somewhat of a point.
