DG: looking upwards is generally associated with the act of remembering, so it's not too much of a stretch to equate it to thinking. Though it would be sad if, for this dwarf, thinking = remembering.

Somehow I recognized Gurren Lagann without actually having seen the show.  Probably from friggin TVTropes.

They also aren't much to look at. I have a feeling you're going for a rough/extraordinarily ugly style on purpose, but you might want to practice (privately <_<) a bit before making actual comics
