Saw this posted to reddit and had to share. (Note: I didn't draw this) 

Now, the author says it is a viking vs a shark, but I think we all know better. The guy is using an axe, he has a giant beard, looks short and is a bad-ass by fighting a shark. He is obviously a dwarf.

Also. Everything looks sweet. well.. furry. But sweet. visually sweet, not that I'd want to eat a furry sweet. Especially if it's a kobold, considering that kobolds are not... sweet. It looks good, ok!

Officially, DF Kobolds are a mammal\reptile hybrid. Sneaky, cunning, nasty and with a penchant for kleptomaniacal hoarding. So they're a bit lizardy.

Cool, drooling fangs make them look a bit vampiric, or perhaps reptillian/snakelike.

I thought their snouts would be somewhat longer though.

As far as ratmen, they would have rounder ears and tails (which kobolds don't have I think).
