Currently Valcon is kind of dominating all four competitions and therefor the thread. That ¤image¤ is great.  :)

We need more pictures, many many more!  :D

Is there a deadline? I'm thinking of entering, but since I don't have a scanner I'll have to draw in GIMP, and that'll take ages.

There is no deadline, no restrictions as to method, and really no concrete rules at all!  :D

Superb pieces of work guys.  Excellent work.  When I compare them to my own sorry stick men doodled in margins, I become sad.

That font reminds me of StarTrek.

An image to astound your senses!

Here we have a speardwarf and a female carpenter.  I took it as canon that the female DF dwarves have beards.  The speardwarf's shield has an image of two mountains, which is the symbol of The Honest Roughness of Buds, a dwarven civilization.  The carpenter is holding that saw thing that all the carpenters have in DR's tileset.  Her dress is decorated with an image of thin crosses.
If I'd bothered to check before hand, I probably would've gone with a sword or hammer dwarf so they both wouldn't be the same color.  I guess I could've not based their color schemes off of their profession color, but what fun would that be?
Are the sketchy lines representative of my laziness and impatience, or is it a style choice?  I guess we'll never know.

I love 'em Joro, very faithful to DF =)

Also about the lines, if it is a style choice, i dont mean to be rude, but to me it gives of a sense of uncertainty.  i do it myself and have been struggling with it, but i'm learning that it can (depending on your stroke) help to draw out longer lines with a bit more stregth!

hope i don't seem too forward, but i figure critiquing is part of art!

speaking of which, thank you to all who have commented on mine, i appreciate the input and totally understand about the font, it was kinda a whacky decision ;P

I think the women are just supposed to have stubble...  The full, grand beards are reserved for the men.

Also, they look a bit thin.  [STOUT] is a very important tag, you know...  Can't have pansy dwarves goggling about.

But that's a pretty good drawing, I commend you good artist-person (can't say "sir" for fear of equal rights activists...).

Just today I was pondering the possibility of producing DF-themed warhammer models, complete with profession-appropriate colour schemes...
