All of the HFS demons are humanoid.

(GAAAH. So awesome. Your art style reminds me of the glorious art used in samurai jack, only a lot more vivid)

I never ever remotely imagined Tentacle Demons as humanoid.

Also there's a fairly large difference between humanoid and 'dude with horns'.

Yeah, I thought they were balls of tentacles. But they have the standard head, legs, and arms. The tentacles are probably attached somewhere else.

(I think of Demons - the megabeast type one - as Balor-like, but I can't help but draw half naked buff ones. Ah well.)

I have always pictured most of the demons as being human-like in appearance, especially the ones that are typically displayed in Legends mode. I guess I just have a boring imagination.

I guess if you want to consider humanoid tentacle demons, you can always watch Men in Black II.

The main villain is a tentacle demon that takes a human form.

if you look at the raws, it says that all HFS creatures are humanoid.
Come to think of it, so is every other creature in the CREATURE_STANDARD text.

Just playing around.  I really liked the magma rivers of the 2d version, in the very depths of the mountain.  It was a great undertaking to tunnel to them, bridging first the swift cave river and then the perilous chasm, leaving behind the tumult and light of the surface until the only sound was that of the ringing of the picks and the slow movement of the earth itself.  You'd set up your foundries and forges on its banks, gazing longingly across its sluggish flow at the rich veins of ore and gems, just out of reach, and perhaps you'd even see the blue glint of adamantium...

My third HFS picture:

Is my take on the end-boss leader demons. specifically the ones who emerge from the pits, who, unlike historical demons, do not have any of the human leather charms or goblin bone bracelets.

There's buff, there's ripped, and there's flayed.

That's flayed right there.

Size 16 for the win.

Also: Balathustrius somehow made a magma river convey feelings of warmth and home, as opposed to !!DEATH!!. I suppose that's how dwarves see 'em.

That's flayed right there.

You mean he looks like he has no skin?
He was meant to look wiry... but whatever, it's creepy, it works.

My bodybuilder friend says 'flayed' just means supremely buff, with tight skin and rips - although a skinless monstrosity would be pretty cool.

My rendition of a fire imp. He's a lot less dangerous than he thinks he is.
