Metamorphisis of the Gods

A vast majority of universes are created as a result of some ancient Overgod willing a massive creation into being.  However, there are few occassions when this isn't true.  These comparatively few universes are made through the borders of two separate universes colliding and emitting an utterly massive level of energy.  This energy will occasionally manage to form a barrier to the Void beyond, capturing the relatively few star systems that had broken away from the other universes.

Within these universes, the might of the gods is greatly lessened.  In fact, it is actually rare for gods to form.  Those that do are frequently far closer tied to the perceptions of mortals rather than holding a free reign as seen in universes with Overgods.  And while the ancient entities that traverse between worlds speak of rumors of the gods of these universes achieving an Overgod state, the ordinary power of the gods spawned by these universes is far weaker than those that exist in the universes of Overgods.

In the universe of this type that is currently relevant, three entities come into being over different areas within a singular star system.  The first to manifest, the god of cunning and travel, Nixim, came into being over a massive continent near entirely composed of steppes, plains, and deserts.  The only exception is the westernmost side that played host to a collossal mountain range.  Over these lands, the temperture swings wildly from day to night, going from blistering heat to frostbite inducing cold.

Far to the southeast, the god of scoundrels and meddling known as Fluarta came into being deep within the jungles of a massive, dense archepelago that covered an area of four thousand square kilometers, it's northwesternmost portions just barely coming into contact with the priorly mentioned continent.  Massive hurricanes sweep over these lands often during the first half of the year, settling into a massive calm during the latter portions that allows the clouds of ash from another continent to deposit itself over the islands.

Upon that crescent island manifested the god of darkness and destruction, Kyuu.  The large crescent-shaped continent is covered in thousands of active volcanoes that feed a massive cloud of ash that covers the islands in darkness.  During much of the year, the little light there is coming from massive rivers of lava that snake their way across the island.  However, there are a few hurricanes of power that manage to push their way through the cloud of ash to deposit their payloads of rain upon the islands, causing massive disruptions to the cloud that allows for natural light to make its way to the island for a time before the island is once again shrouded in the shadow of the ash.

The planet these three gods finds themselves upon is within a binary star system.  The two stars orbit each other, with a barren planet orbiting both in a figure eight.  The planet the gods are upon is the second of the system, with only one planet composed entirely of ice and an asteroid belt past it.  Around the second planet are a number of rings of dust and ice that orbit in line with the planet's equator, occasionally showering the planet in number of small meteors that impact upon random areas of the planet.

There currently exists no form of intelligent life upon the planet, but that is soon to change as the first gods begin to utilize their power upon the planet...

"Hooo deary, so much ROOM.  Breathe in that air!"

Nixim searches around the plains and steppes, observing all the non-intelligent life, trying to find the most dominant and prolific species.

Nixim's search through the steppes confuses the god at first.  They encounter a very large number of creatures with light coats upon the surface, ones that should not be able to survive the nights.  However, as the day starts to progress to night, the god begins spotting creatures with heavier coats, the former lighter coats starting to go missing.  Following a spotted quadruped, Nixim finds it heading to a deep cave that, while a bit colder than the outside, holds a stable temperature that is still far warmer than the night.  Heading back out, the god finds the animals of the ecosystem have changed over to have a moderate coat. Interest piqued, Nixim observes as the ecosystem shifts again as things progress into the depth of night.  As the moderate coat creatures begin to disappear into their underground shelters, strange forms begin to appear.  Animals with heavy coats begin roaming, though with strange appearances resulting from their adaptions to utilize their senses in the night.  As the night draws to a close, Nixim watches as the moderate coat creatures awaken again before disappearing for the light coat creatures.  As a result of this cycle, there is no clear perfectly dominant species within these lands.

Flurata's search of the Archipelago has them come across an utterly massive level of land-based species diversity, but notably less in aerial or marine life.  Furthermore, this is a large level of difference in fragility between the land based life and the aerial and marine life, the former adapted to have what amounts to armor plating while the latter are clearly designed for massive levels of speed.  When the hurricane season hits, the god instantly understands why.  The land creatures gorge themselves as the season comes in, proceeding to hibernate within the strange treelife of the islands.  As far as the god can tell, the trees naturally grow a network of interior hollows these animals can live within, some trees having grown large enough that could allow, from the perspective of an individual from Earth, a grizzly could live in it comfortably.  A quick check shows that these trees have insane levels of durability, close to steel reinforced concrete with interconnected root systems to allow for them to remain standing in all but the absolute worst of the hurricanes.  The god notices little preparations in the hands of the aeriel and marine life, up until all of them seem to begin moving away.  Seeing it is a result of one of the hurricanes coming in to the observed island, the god decides to track the packs and observes them deftly flying from island to island through gaps between the great storms, even seeming to predict where gaps will form.  Throughout the flight, the initial flock of aerial life and schools of marine life intersect with others, with members trading off members, resulting in the final group sharing only a limited number of the initial groups, who proceed to settle in the new local area they end up in after the season ends.

Within the ash cloaked crescent island, Kyuu initially locates no life besides simple mosses.  Frustration begins to build before the god notices a rock move.  Looking closer, the god begins to notice that, while the numbers are limited, the island does play host to a fair amount of life.  It is just that, with the exception of the mosses, all life upon the islands has grown an outer appearance matching the rocks to such a degree that they appear to be formed of rock themselves.  Some that live closest to the rivers of lava have even developed bioluminecent red lines across their body to make them camoflage with the lava flows, with their undersides having become strong enough and interiors being so efficient at heat redistibution to allow them to be able to withstand laying upon partially molten lava.  Predators are very limited in number, most forms of life prefering to subsist off of the mosses occasionally found, but the few that do exist are vicious beasts that have evolved to destroy the rock-hard casing of their prey with ease.

"Eenie meenie minie YOU!", Nixim shouts in an ecstatic fury, pointing at the spotted quadruped.

Use act to uplift all nearby members of that species to worshipful sentience.  The species, quadrupedal and spotted, is a herbivorous feline, capable of climbing trees and all manner of treacherous terrain with its strong limbs and prehensile digits.  As a cat, it's sense of hearing and smell are excellent, along with a night vision allowing it to see in total darkness.  The species henceforth named as "The Suthapau" become sapient, tool using, resembling quadrupedal apes with feline features.

"So long as they are clever they shouldn't have too many issues surviving."
Near one of the caves of the volcano's Kyuu creates the first Telrac, a race of vamperic humanoid pale skin creatures with two arms two legs and a set of wings which vary, they also have hair on the top of there heads (like a human) that can be any color in the rainbow and they cant die from old age. When a Telrac is born they have no wings, once they grow to adolescence there wings start to grow and depending on there skills there wings vary, a example is a Telrac who is good at combat or hunting would have bat like wings while a Telrac who is good at administration or bureaucracy would have branch like wings with what look to be crystals hanging on them or with what looks to be gold adorning there wings. Telrac being vamperic live off of the blood of other creatures and slowly grow stronger from the blood they drink. The only blood a Telrac cant drink is the blood of another Telrac and although it wont actually stop there hunger they can eat normal food for pleasure. If a Telrac is in contact with sunlight there skin quickly starts to burn although it would take a full four hours to kill a Telrac in this manner. Being adverse to light and sticking to the darkness they have good night vision.

Turn 002

The three races created by the First begin to make their first strides of civilization.  To the north, within the vast steppes, a hunting party of Suthapau wandering far discovers a cache of flint and accidentally invent fire.  Upon the archipelago, the Droegh begin utilizing small branches broken off of the great trees by hurricanes as primitive throwing spears to hamper prey and attack rival tribes.  Upon the crescent continent, the Telrac utilized ash and crushed obsidian to cover the pale skin of their bodies completely in order to be hidden from their prey as they approach, some elders leaving patches of skin uncovered by the ash to form various markings.

No formal religion exists for any of the tribes, instead they hold an innate awareness of the gods that uplifted them.  This will weaken as their numbers grow, but as of now it is enough to provide power to their gods, as well as affect them.  Shifting from amorphous entities, the three gods take the shape of their creations, though with some modifications based upon the initial technology discovered.  For Nixim, her coat is composed of fire rather than fur.  Flurata wields a throwing spear in each of his grasping claws that is able to strike any target with perfect accuracy wherever he desires.  Kyuu is covered entirely in obsidian dust and ash, with intricate designs of exposed skin running along his body.

As these gods gain their forms and civilization begins in the Northern Hemipshere, three more amorphous gods form in the Southern Hemisphere.  All three form upon the singular continent that dominates the hemisphere.  Within the vast network of caverns that crisscross the continent and to which every cave leads to in some way, forms the god of the Underground and Expansion, Ardion.  Upon the heavily forested eastern side of the continent, the God of Victory and Riches known as Atian forms.  Upon the sparsely forested western side of the continent, the God of Muti Jegina forms.

Unlike the northern continents, the great southern continent has a much more stable climate.  The eastern side is occasionally struck by the great storms of the Northern Archipelago, but due to the greater amount of landmass and a few small mountain ranges, they die out quicker than in the north.  Furthermore, without the side effects of the ash causing disturbances in the wind patterns, it does not have the same wild swings as the northern steppes.  However, this is not to say the continent is not without its own issues.  The danger of these lands does not come from the climate, but from the creatures.  There are only two size categories in the location.  The creatures are either shorter than the knees of your average human, or the ankles of the creatures are, at shortest, equal to the height of the average human.  As a slight example, the caverns are not naturally occurring, but instead due to tunneling by worm-like creatures that, while only of a population of less than ten, are similar in length to the height of the Burj Khalifa of Earth.

Due to the expulsion of power in the Northern Hemipshere, none of the older gods know of the presence of these new gods.  They will have time to create their own races before they are noticed.

Kyuu examined there new form for a moment "Interesting..." is all they thought before looking at there creations and thinking "What should I teach you?"

After a bit of thought Kyuu taught the Telrac basic stone carving/masonry in the hopes that they would make obsidian tools as it was clear they would be unable to make tools out of any other material any time soon he also wondered if any Telrac alive now would manage to feed themselves long enough to see the rise of civilization or the other gods creations.
