((Just checking, are you planning on Steven leaving and moving on to another character? Because if you get beyond city limits he's going to sort of move out of the focus of the story. If not, I'm sure someone will manage to come across him and shanghai him back into the group before that. ))

((I like to think it's the DM's job to keep the player's character forced in the story. Fate if you will. ))

((In other circles that's known as railroading, and while I try to make the tracks obvious, if you insist on going off them, I won't drop a 'but thou must' on you, but I will lay out consequences. ))

((I just think that just like me with Etoile, Highmax28 is just trying to roleplay Steven the way the character is supposed to be. The DM giving a good enough in game reason to stick around for the adventure seems fair to me in light of keeping the roleplay on track.))

((Mostly just following his character. If the guards catch him and say 'bruh, the mayor just wanted to talk to you' I'm pretty sure he'd calm down and drop his stuff off again.

The gnome puts his hands on his hips and looks offended "Of course I have! That's what led me here. Now, you big human oaf, let us be off to find my missing golem! I can offer you a small reward to thank you for your aid." He mutters far more quietly the next sentence. "I'm sure that stupid golem still has my pouch..."

The Party

Shalelu smiles and gives Etoile a wink at his endearing stutter. "Well then, I'll see you all later for dinner. At the Rusty Dragon - I'm staying there anyway, and they have the best food in town."

Steven

Steven takes small drink of his flask and a drag of his cigarette before unpacking his duster. If the guard comes to take him, perhaps the gnome can cause enough of a ruckus over the two of them looking for Rusty to let him slip away.

Steven then stood up and looked down at the gnome with his stern gaze as he began to speak.

"Alright Mr. Bastargre. If you're going to pay me for helping you look for Rusty, then I'm going to have to tell you how I work as a mercenary first. I take even small stuff like this seriously.

What exactly do you plan to have me do?"

One to take paid work seriously, Steven's voice was low and stern.

Even though she said later, Etoile does not have anything better to do except return to his studies. That is unless anybody else wants anything else from him, as unlikely as that is.

What a shame Shalelu would forget about him by the evening.

Goes back to Rusty Dragon, smirking at Shalelu's wink at Etoile.

If Aloisturm noticed the ranger's wink, the construct failed to apply any meaning to it. It returned to the blacksmith's forge, determined to get a little more work done before the meatbags' evening meal.

Etoile is going to do research. Where, and on what topics?
Aloisturm is going to work on his masterwork tools at the forge.
Kal is heading back to the inn. Anything in mind to do during the day?
