Xan001, Platoon 3 (?)
Inventory: Gum, Gun, Helmet, Backpack
Status: Serious Wound, Bleedout 1/3
Type: Point Man
Character Points: Maps, Mission Complete: Dune
Character Traits: n/a
Patch my wound up with my gum. Stop that bleeding, I ain't got time for it!
((Am I correct in that we can stay with our current 001 incarnations with a new type if we feel like it, or do we have to switch to get a type?))
the new type takes effect at the start of the next mission (after the conclusion of this battle), or with a new character. You can put this character away for a bit, like Sarrak is doing, and run a second one, though. So, you can stay with this character, and remain a grunt until battle end, at which point this character becomes the new type, or play another character now. Also, if you have more than one type unlocked, you can switch types between characters. Once a character "levels" into a type, that character is locked into that type's progression line.
P.S. I'm taking a Sword for the next stroll.
noted. remind me later.

Rip the machine gun off of its emplacement in an awesome display of brute grunt force, then turn the gun and fire it at the enemies (And probably allies) inside the bunker.
(6) You yank the machine gun out of it's place, tipping yourself out the window in the process. You and the machine gun go tumbling down the dune, head over stock. You gain (4) four minor wounds, and the status "breathless."
I'll roll this status until you recover from the fall. the sand in your shorts is permanent. On the bright side, you now have a heavy machine gun.
((Ahaha! AHahahahahaah! Best moment to roll a 5! ))
Unit Number: ynk002 (platoon 4)

"PREPARE TO MEET THE OPEN HAND OF THE LORD!"
Dish out some more extravagant-yet-righteous beatdowns to the Other GuysTM.
Inspire my allies with a brilliant display of slow-motion kung fu.
(4) Very intimidating. You snap a dude's wrist, and back kick another dude out of the nest. He goes tumbling down the hill after CR001 up there.
Unit number: Jag004 [platoon 4]
Name: Shut up you sod. No one asked. No one cares.
Inventory: gun, military backpack. Gum
status: Buried alive +2 to death roll while buried alive
Minor wound: 1/5
suffocation: 1/5
dig out 0/3
A bit too cozy it seems.
Continue to dig.
((Do minor wounds work like bleed outs?))
(5) you dig yourself out a little. no additional suffocation this round, as you get a brief breath of air. digout at 1/3!
Unit number: Bo002 Platoon: 4.
Inventory: Gun. military backpack. Gum. Helmet.
Status: Serious wounds [right arm][head][torso] Bleedout 2/3
(Has cover)
I attempt to stop the bleeding, and heal my wounds.
(1) ouch. You bleed out on the battlefield. Poor bastard. You are dead.
death rolls for platoon 4. five rolls. Bo002 is already dead, so someone else will take his shot.
CR001 loses another limb, and dies to the wounds. He was the last of platoon one, and gains the "ten yard stare." Surprised you lived this long.
Ynk002 kung fu kicks the wrong guy, who dodges, and guides ynk002's thrust into an exposed electrical circuit, where he makes those comical abdeah abdeha blblblblbblblb sounds for a moment while his hair stands on end, before being blown clear out of the machine gun nest and across the dune, to land in a smoldering pile directly in front of a fresh batch of grunts, making their way to some unknown objective. They stare, wide eyed and open mouthed, until their sergeant bitchslaps the lot of them, and they move on, or die trying.
the other two are fine, albeit getting a tad outnumbered again.

Jog out the brick and fire at an important-looking enemy(or, if there is none, fire at a normal one.)
(4) that guy manning the defensive position looks important. You wound him and he falls out of sight. another someone takes his place. One fewer attacks coming your way this round
Lay down some suppressing fire, preferably from some form of cover.
Unit Number:Zr03, platoon 6
Inventory:Gun. military backpack. Gum. Helmet.
Status: Alive.
(3) you lay some half-hearted suppressing fire down. It isn't enough to reduce the amount of fire coming your way, but it is enough to allow the next player a bonus on their success roll. (1) you do this while jogging straight at the barrel of one of the defensive weapons.
Unit Number: Su003 Platoon 6
Inventory: Helmet, Backpack, Gun, Gum
Status: Fine
Character points: Military Genius: tactical
Chew gum and stick it on helmet for good luck aannnnnd charge towards the undamaged fortification. Use the wall of it as cover.
best damned use of the gum yet. You get a character point "gum is lucky." (1+1) just as you start to step out of the Brick, a hail of fire rains down in front of you, spraying molten sand across the path. You now have an obstacle to cross before getting to the fortification. (4) good news is, you can use the edge of the brick's doorway as cover. You have a decent position from which to fire.
Unit number: OcE003, Platoon 6
Inventory: Gun. military backpack. Gum. Helmet.
Status: Alive, within a margin of error
Get a grenade. Pull pin. Run into the undamaged fortification.
(3) you pull the pin and run into throwing range of the undamaged defensive position. Your kamikaze run will not quite reach the position in time, but a throw might.
Unit number: Yo002 Platoon 6

Try to starch the bleeding with a dermal patch.
(4) good enough. You stabilize. Your bleedout counter remains though.
Unit Number: ZB001, Platoon 6
Inventory: Gun, military backpack, gum, helmet.
Status: Minor wound
Dig foxhole near undamaged enemy defenses. Request grenade.
(5) you dig a pit right under the wall of the position. How you got there, even you couldn't quite say. You have immunity form fire this round, and +2 cover as long as you stay where you are. The sarge gives you a grenade, and pats you on the helmet. How the fuck
he got here is anyone's gue- where the fuck did he go? He was just here a moment ago.
Unit number: Rak002, Platoon: 6
Type: Soldier
Inventory: Gun. Basic armor. Military backpack. Gum. Helmet.
Status: Alive & Ready to die!
Character Point: "Bruiser", "Mission Complete: Dune"
"Sarge, give me a grenade!"
Charge into the fray and
(Grenade) Using my impressive arm strength, throw activated grenade at one of the enemy soldiers inside the nest.
(Nothing) Lay heavy fire onto the enemy.
((I'm giving Rak001 some time to recuperate. He deserves that.))
(fair enough
) (5) launch your grenade! It flies in a lazy looking arc, slowly rotating grip over shell, until it disappears itno the hole in the damaged defensive point. the defensive structure makes a loud, hollow boom sound, as if a grenade just went off inside it. And then thick black smoke billows out and the defense is broken. two down, one to go.
Unit number: Ner003
Inventory: Gun. military backpack. Gum. Helmet.
apply lasers to damaged position.
come to think of it, can i get a character point for doing something as stupid as overcharging my gun, holding down the trigger, and throwing it?
Hmm. "refuge in audacity" sounds too bold. "What the fuck were you thinking" sounds .. closer, but it kinda rejects the positive aspect of creativity. Ah! "Hold my beer, and watch this!" closer. "Stupid Genius." There ya go. You get a character point titled "Stupid Genius."
Well, the damaged position is already exploded, so I'll point you at some enemies instead. (5) you kill a guy! One fewer shots coming your way this round.
Unit number: Hat003 (platoon 6)
Inventory: Gun. military backpack. Gum. Helmet.
Status: Serious Wound
Patch up my wound as best I can. Call for an actual medic to help if there's one nearby.
((Nah to the char. point; pure dumb luck isn't anything I'd be particularly proud of. Just felt like asking.))
eh. A lot of war 'heroes' aren't proud of what got them their medals. You get a character point called "the ten yard stare" for seeing all your peeps die before you. As with the number following your designation, this is a symbol of veteran status.
(4) (3) between you and the medic, you get bandaged up reasonably well. Stabilized.
Incoming fire: 13 shots, minus two for the actions of some players, or a total of eleven shots. One each. neato.
AM004 gets maimed while taunting the enemy.
Su003 takes a minor wound from spraying molten sand. Luckily the door took the brunt of the spray. could have ben worse
Oce003 and Yo002 likewise take molten sand spray, resulting in minor wounds.
ZB001 takes a minor wound (for a total of 2/5) from a stray shot, which blasted the edge of his foxhole.
Ner003 takes a shot right through the chest. His various extremities fall together in a neat, if nauseating, little pile.
Next round instructionsAll new characters are in
platoon 7, who is tasked with aiding
platoon 4 in the machine gun nest. A good start might be to recover the machine gun, which has taken a little trip down the side of the dune, and is currently the target of a counter offensive. another good way to go would be to throw yourselves int othe fight in the nest, and kill the guys.
you need 3 more kills,
from inside the nest! to win that one.
Platoon 6 has one more defensive position to hit, and then they can begin planting explosives on the antibrick weapon.
You guys in
platoon 3 can idle, help out somewhere, or fuck off.
