What kind of creature grows from the bud?

The spider hungrily devours the darkness, leaving a hole into the strange fabric behind reality.

It grows in size, but diminishes in brightness.
What does it do now?

The spider expels the darkness onto the world tree. The spider brightens and shrinks, while the world tree dims and grows.

The darkness tries to close the tear in itself and expel the strangeness, but it resists, trying to give itself shape.
