Christine, upon being asked if she was also making a last-minute deposit, shakes her head.
"No, that's all been done already. I'll probably be heading back up the university now."
Head to the University gates and try to get in
You head on up through the gates, and notice some of the school's clubs trying to make an impression.
"I understand." Nix bows for the final time ( he really should rein it in, he felt, but habit's a hard thing to break ).
Search for professors.
You wander about past the sunray mirror, heading between the two great halls and gazing upon a circular building enshrouded in pillars. The plaque above the quad-doorways reads:
LIBRARY OF CLARITY.
Talk to the mechanic next, and see what that club is about. Ask how dangerous the work is, and how well it fulfills service credits. Then ask if there are any other good ways to get credits without risking my life.
"...dangerous?" She looks at her arm, missing. "Oh. Don't mind this." she rests her head on her (metal) palm. "There was an accident a few years back with the Wind Department. It kind of destroyed the whole building."
Varying schematics and designs on parchment litter the desk. The woman snaps her fingers, which ring like cymbals, and the sheets organize themselves into a neat stack floating a couple of inches above the desk, angled for your viewing convenience.
"Our club activities include work on agricultural machinery, some powered carriage designs, and prosthetics like the one you see here. We recently got a grant to build a crane for the new Wind Department building, so that should be fun!"
Acquire uniform, ask statue what clubs are for.
"What's wrong with having clubs?" the statue responds in its shrill teenaged voice.
"Humans like to socialize, you know? Not everyone's rich or smart enough to stay on top of school while going places and finding Credit opportunities. Clubs let you have fun and work as a team. You get credits for inventing stuff with us."They don't seem to be handing uniforms out nearby. That's likely the quartermaster's duty.
For the second time that day, Christine headed up towards the gates of the University, passing through without incident, though she did see a few guards in an argument with a pair of students, one a lizardwomen in sackcloths. Getting clear of tue crowds, she stopped for a moment to take in the view, which was as amazing as the stories she had heard made it out to be. Unsure what exactly to look at more, she let her gaze wander, fire to the massive sunray mirror that dominated the entrance, then at the many buildings and garderns that lay all over the campus, and then at the waterways that crisscrossed the grounds, which were still completely ice free despite the cold. Looking at the edges of the waterway closest to the entrance, she saw the tents and pavilions that undoubtedly housed the club recruiters. At first, she thought about heading over, but then reconsidered; the pack she carried was starting to weigh heavy on her back, and the day was still young anyway, so she instead decided to find the dorms instead.
Ask someone for directions to the dorms, and then head there.
You notice an old woman, probably a staff member, planting a sign in front of the gates that reads:
NEW ARRIVALS
QUARTERMASTER
DORMITORIES
TO THE WEST
<-----------
It points toward the marble garden.
"Right, forgot about that. Thank you, I should get the other pre-class obligations sorted out." I should find where the dorms are, since uniforms won't be that useful without a place to put them.
Search around for the dorms. Ask directions if needed.
You turn around to look for directions-givers, and then notice a sign in front of the gates that wasn't there before. There's no text on this side, but on the side facing the gate it says:
NEW ARRIVALS
QUARTERMASTER
DORMITORIES
TO THE WEST
<-----------
It points toward the marble garden.
