Chivalric Army Simulator Turn 1 (9/10)
« on: August 23, 2016, 08:21:51 am »

Chivalric Army Simulator

You are a wannable noble house on virgin lands. You start with a keep and a small retinue. With this, you must fulfil your destiny to conquer the world.

This game is inspired by RTD horrors, Battlemaster and Total War.

Rules:

Objective: This is an economic army-building game. Develop an army to defeat or subjugate all the other players.

Turns: 1 Game turn is 1 season, representing 1/4 a year. Financial and Population calculations are done at the year end.

Game Start:
Players start with:
1 Noble Knight (themselves)
20 Courtiers (Their entire extended family and bastard children)

1 Stone Keep
3 Villages 100 400 Serfs each
1 Town 1000 Freemen

Signup Sheet:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The Game ends when:

- All Players are defeated but one.

- Less than half the players remain and are united into a Kingdom. A zombie/dragon/annunuki apocalypse is triggered. The apocalypse is repelled or wipes out the remaining players.

EDIT: Is the proletariat counted or used in anyway? Or are any serfs turned proles just forgotten about?

Questions:
Do we start with money?
Village and town ramping costs - Is that per keep, or per player?
Does building a town wall limit the population, or will they keep growing outside of that?
Do special courtiers out on assignment still take up apartment space and contribute to population growth?
What does building a second monastery do?

Serfs turned into proles are forgotten about. Proles get in the way if anyone is crazy enough to try and wall a town. Proles also get in the way if you choose to let them into your castle during a siege, in which case they will eat your food.

I'll fast track the first 3-5 years to speed up pop and income growth. Then change the pace to seasonal So you can maneuver against bandits springing up everywhere and such.

Populations larger than the town walls are unprotected by the town walls.

I suppose courtiers living outside shouldn't take up space. You want apartment space to facilitate local population growth.

Monasteries don't stack for now.
