You enter the game. Your character begins in a general store, across the street from a tavern. The place has been looted by the bandits, who left in so much of a hurry that they didn't notice your character hiding inside a crate of dried corn. Your character gets out, shakes himself off, and waits for further instructions.

"Well, if we're going to go, now would probably be the time."

You open the door just a crack, and take a look around the room. When you see no one else in the tavern, you stand up behind the counter. Outside, the chaos seems to have diminished or moved to another part of town, but you can still hear the occasional crack of a pistol or shotgun nearby.

If there was ever a good time to get some free booze, it was now. Bill snags a few bottles and heads on out.

Len doesn't do anything if the sort, simply waiting for Bill before skedaddling.

You set down the empty bottle and grab a full one with each hand. Armed with a bottle of "Devil's Spit" and "Demon's Tears," you exit the tavern. From here, you can see a General Store across the street, stables down the road leading out of town to the left, and the sheriff's office on T intersection to the right.

You wait around while Bill gets some improvised weapons. Or supplies for a post-shootout party. Whatever he's planning on using them for, he doesn't take his time, and soon you're both out in the street, looking over your options. From here, you can see a General Store across the street, stables down the road leading out of town to the left, and the sheriff's office on T intersection to the right.
