Well, the writer was, against the odds, an athletic man, so he made a simple dead sprint to get back inside the tavern -- if the bartender was still out there, maybe he had a shotgun the writer could try to borrow or something.

 You make it inside and look for a weapon. You find one hidden in a cabinet, and just as you suspected, it's a shotgun - double-barreled, to be exact. It's already loaded with 2 shells, and 4 more are hidden under a bag next to it. Meanwhile, the sound of gunfire intensifies, and you hear  approaching hoofbeats drown out the sound of the fleeing ones.

The writer makes his way into the backroom if there is one, and backs against the wall with the shotgun pointed at the door. If there isn't one, he simply does that from behind the bar.

You slip into the back room and close the door behind you. The man next to you follows behind you,  and closes the door hastily. Both of you back up against the far wall, you holding the shotgun, and him weilding the glass bottle. The sounds outside get closer. The bandits are here.

 Alright, the session's over now, and it turned out to be a cliffhanger as well. I hope I get more people next time, or else it'll become a little dull.

 Footsteps creak inside the empty tavern, and perhaps a voice is being uttered through the cacophony of noises from outside. As of now it seems you are unnoticed, or at the very least, unbothered.

Clutching the bottle he purloined, the man heads outside to see what the commotion is.

The writer quietly mumbles something to the other stranger. "Bandits out there. Don't recommend going out."
Other than that, he just kept the gun leveled at the backroom door.

 I might add a slight extention if we hardly get that far. However, since we're squeezed for time, if Immaterial doesn't respond within five minutes, I'll do the turn.
