"....where are we?"

And now it's Aoi's turn to raise an eyebrow "We always go here." She pauses for a moment "You think this place is odd as well _right?" She quickly turns around, re-examining of the street's features. Are there people passing near it? Are there any buildings with doors on this street? Any cars parked here?

[Powder Miner]

It's about as stereotypical as a suburban street can get, a little drive with simple, but not poor houses on either side. These houses of course have doors, and several of them have empty cars parked. She can't see any people unless she makes an effort to look quite far in the distance where the next street seems to be normal -- that is to say, there are people there.

[Empiricist]

Does the street have a name? Aoi looks up its name, and if there isn't one, the name of the nearby streets, on her phone.

[Powder Miner]

Aoi looks up the street name -- Puresu Horuda Street, that much seems to be normal. If she looks up a map on her phone, the street name is where it says it should be.

[Empiricist]

Holding her phone out she remarks "Guess this place does exist... W-we could knock on one of the doors and pretend to uh... I dunno _something?"

"Lead the way. It's your idea."

[Empiricist]

"But- I... er _(okay)"
Aoi knocks on one of the doors and... what on earth was she supposed to do? What if someone answers? Should she run? Say she's doing a survey? Ask if they've accepted Jesus as their lord and saviour?

Smile. Smile. Look natural.
She gives Kanade a quick glance, eyes practically crying out "HELP ME".

Internally panicking, Aoi brings a slightly shaky hand to the door, raps on it a couple of times, and waits... and waits... and there isn't any sort of response whatsoever.

Mijimeki crosses his arms, thinking. Are any of their homes part of this street?

[Empiricist]

Can Aoi see into any of the homes through their windows? If so, is there anything of interest in there? Are there any students passing by?

[Powder Miner]

Mijimeki gets to thinking, but he recognizes pretty immediately that they're still far away from their houses; they haven't even reached the point on their route home where Kanade normally splits off.

Aoi notices something much more disturbing when she walks up to the houses' windows and peers inside; the houses are barren. As in, it's clear that noone even lives in them. There are no paintings on the walls, no furniture, hell there isn't even any carpeting on the floors. If she waits long enough, she can see a student approach the street, but he doesn't seem to be noticing anything strange, just walking on up with a vaguely glazed look in his eyes.

Kanade calls out to the student. She had a theory and she was willing to go test it out.
"Hey! You! You mind calling the police? There's been a robbery down here!"

[Powder Miner]

The student blinks, frowns, and walks up to them. "H-huh? I'm sorry, I don't understand. There's been a robbery?"

[IamanElfCollaborator]

"Well, my friends think there's been. D'you mind looking in that house for us? Just to settle their nerves."
She points to the house that Aoi's just looked into.
