AUSTRIA RECEIVES "AID"
Italian forces have taken control of the city of Trieste, after months of violence and riots swept the streets. Austrian troops had been ineffective at reestablishing order, but after the successful mobilization of the Italian army, Austrian troops have disbanded, handing the reins to the Italians. Meanwhile, the rest of Austria is still in chaos, but foreign forces begin to close in to provide aid.
JAPAN SEIZES CANTON
A Japanese fleet has made landfall in the Chinese city of Canton. Chinese bureaucrats and politicians have been imprisoned while the Japanese Navy imposes martial law. Observers of the region note that a Chinese offensive to retake the city will be delayed by conflict between the Chinese and the Polish militaries in Manchuria.
ITALY AND FRANCE GOBBLE AFRICAN PORTS
Italy and France have begun to conduct negotiations with various African ports in exchange for trade monopolies. Sources close to the negotiations describe the terms as involving threats of war, or shelling from the ships docked in the ports.
