Wayward Paths - Forever (Adventure #3) - Finished!
« on: August 15, 2016, 09:20:44 pm »

OOC: http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=150671.msg6222580#msg6222580

An unnaturally white corridor. Sounds of violence in the distance. A string of somewhat conical forms covered in hair, lying immobile on the floor. One is leaking a cyan fluid. Two figures standing over.

"Such a mess"

"To think we didn't notice them before"

"To think he would leave it to us to clean up this... mlmnrk business."

"This is not unexpected."

"Except, he wishes to avoid us."

"No matter. He will have left a trail."

After narrowly escaping the machinations of Der Gott-Fuhrer der Sternereich, and a fate of being subjects in an anomalous research facility, the erstwhile troupe has since made several stops, some involving minor adventures. But, as promised, the Traveler has managed to return some of them home. Their last stop turned out to be, rather than the expected homeworld of one of the passengers, 11th Century India, from where they actually picked someone up instead.

Now the strange ship was in transit (after yet another warning not to peek out the windows), and the Traveler stood in the control room, watching the panels on the central pillar shift around. "So," he says, "Who wants to go home next? I am reasonably sure I've figured out where all your realities are now."

"Doubtful. We'd have more luck if we simply parked outside of Existance and I just started poking holes in any universe that floats by at random."

"For the last time, Existence doesn't work like that. Well, bits of it do. Sorta. Except you'd need to operate from a different reference point. And it wouldn't be a good idea. At best, it'd be like... how to put this... walking home from another planet. At worst, well the analogy starts to break down. Point being, existence is not homogeneous."

"..You do realize the analogy doesn't work in the slightest when one points out that it's relatively normal for members of my civilization to walk home from different planets correct? Although driving is usually faster by about thirty minutes. I believe we have gone over this around five times now?"

The traveler exhales. "I meant, actually walk. With no bending of space-time. Like a human. And the planet has no tech."

"That sounds like an exceedingly boring world. Why would anyone willingly live there?"

Titus looks over to Koi and then to the traveler. "Can we start with him?" He states plainly as he nods his head towards Koi.

Rajita walked around the ship, taking in all the sights and strange contraptions she saw. While a far cry from the royal palace, Rajita found herself glad to be here. After all, she was finally free from her family and the kingdom, and there was so much of the world to explore! Back at the cockpit with the rest of the group, she smiled. "Well, I'd rather not go back to Kerala just yet. Besides, there's so much I haven't seen! Besides, I'm pretty sure that your homes would be wonderful."

(Forgot the description for new players)

Rajita walked around the ship, taking in all the sights and strange contraptions she saw. While a far cry from the royal palace, Rajita found herself glad to be here. After all, she was finally free from her family and the kingdom, and there was so much of the world to explore! Back at the cockpit with the rest of the group, she smiled. "Well, I'd rather not go back to Kerala just yet. Besides, there's so much I haven't seen! Besides, I'm pretty sure that your homes would be wonderful."

He had called it a ship, but it seemed more like a bizarre palace. All these rooms and hallways, and it seemed to be made of brass and silver. And this room, the "helm" of the ship, it seems. A round room of uncertain size, seeming at once cozy yet spacious. The wall was divided into flat facets, each with a window frame blocked by a metal cabinet, aside from the two doors on opposite sides. There was some more conventional furniture spread about (which had been brought out, as earlier promised to Cobb).

"Oh, I know. I'm referring to the others, whom I rescued. As I've been repeatedly reminded, some have had enough adventuring for a while. Which, for the last time, the giant lizards were not my fault. These things just happen sometimes."

"Oh I'd relish the chance to be able to kill some overgrown lizards right about now. " He looks a bit lost in nostalgia for a moment and then frowns as if remembering something.

"They tasted decent. Otherwise I classed the excursion as 'Meh'."
