"I can say with relative certainty that we Are somewhere dangerous. Never trust the dull. Never trust the serene. Never trust the perfect. Peace begets poison. Silence begets horrors of the Void."

At this, Fune zooms into the Traveler's coat pocket and cowers there.
"Dangerous? At the very very least, highly suspicious. But that's how it is when you travel like this. Never trust any expectation." He kicks the box. "I'm not even sure how we're here. Unless my ride itself borked up. In a completely unprecedented way... after who-knows-how-long of taking it through every place imaginable..." The Traveler strokes his chin, mumbling.

"Shucks, dangerous? I can't think of much that's dangerous here, sir. 'cept maybe ticks. But I reckon y'all sort things out while you're here. Anyone thirsty?"

The farmers start walking past the group towards the barn, carrying bundles of grain and several tools. Several of them start humming along to the guitar.

"Howdy!"
"Nice day isn't it?"
"How're y'all doing?"
"Welcome to town!"
"You come a long way?"

The farmers look fairly human, and despite all dressing the same, exhibit about as broad a range in baseline human physical characteristics as might be found. Somewhat odd, considering the usual homogeneous nature of groups found in small, primitive locales.

Fune slowly peeks her head out from the top of the Traveler's pocket, looking around.

No's voice drops to a whisper. "Initiate combat?"

((I ask myself, what would No do in this situation? The answers were, factoring in Koi's observations, attack, or prepare to attack. I choose the one that wouldn't make things go crazy.))

The Traveler whispers back. "They kinda outnumber us, and we don't know what they're capable of."

"Are we capable of making a short jump with the vessel towards the treeline?"
"Hold on" The Traveler goes back into the box, and a few seconds later, a loud cursing is heard. He comes back out, and says "The damn thing won't start"

Rajita just stays near the group, continuing to look around.
The farmers, though offering friendly greetings, also seemed rather busy, and have mostly moved into the barn by now. The boy continues to play his stringed instrument, seeming somewhat absorbed in the practice.

"What specifically is nonfunctional and how can we fix it?"
"It's... well, the best word is 'sick.' Nauseous. Like during our figurative horse-crash, said horse was impacted in the gut, compacting its intestines. Really, this has never happened before."

"Uh, mister?"

"The best I can figure, it needs some time to settle down and... figure out what kind of syrup its swimming in..."

"Sir?"

"I could check the exterior for problems, but there really shouldn't be anything like that, since the exterior's just a-"

"Mister, your box is-"

"Hmm?" The Traveler turns around. "Oh no no no NO NO NO NO NO!" The box seemed to be growing transparent, and emitting a low, rumbling noise, getting steadily louder.
