"Well, it's hard to tell," says the Traveler, climbing back to his feet and helping whoever might be lying next to him up, "You know, what with this never having happened before." He squints at the panel he'd just moved. "But, if I had to guuuesssss.... we've crashed into something. Which is absurd..."

Titus rubs his head for a moment before jumping to his feet. His hand moves instinctively to his swords hilt. "Why would that be abs-... Oh. Right." He scans the room to look for places to take cover if needed and asks. "Can you see whatever it is you hit?"

"That's a very good question, actually. Given the nature of my vehicle, we might have crashed into a somewhere. I mean, it's never happened before, but if we have, we could just look out the window. On the other hand, if we're not at a somewhere, then looking out the window would be a very bad idea. This is like... well, Imagine you're driving a car in the middle of a desert, and suddenly you crash into a boat that's moving along the surface of water. No, it's more like... Okay. Imagine you're riding a horse in the middle of the desert, and suddenly you crash headlong into the concept of flowers."

He scrutinizes some more panels. "Well, it looks like, at least. Hmm. As to whether or not we're anywhere right now, this is inconclusive."

Titus runs his right hand through his hair several times all the while opening and closing his mouth as if he is about to say something but can't think of any thing to say. After a moment or two he quietly speaks. "What."

"Define why looking out the window is a poor choice?"

(Overly complicated figures of speech, I choose you!)

"Alright. For the current travel mode... Well, you know how, when camping, ugh, who am I kidding, you put your food in a sealed container so animals can't smell it? Well, occasionally you get these things called 'metaforms,' and to them you'd be like a teensy little odor particle, which could let one catch the 'scent' of your particular home stretch of reality. And you don't want that, because it would then literally eat the reality you call home, and no one within it could do anything about it. Depending on how your particular multiverse works, there might be nigh-identical parallel universes that don't get eaten, but chances are it'll be able to gorge itself on any alternate timelines of your place. So... yeah."

"Heh. Null would probably eat those things for breakfast. Of course, then he'd get mad at us for interrupting his ordinary breakfast... and that would be bad. I'm not looking out the windows."

No settles back to meditation.

Rajita slowly stands up, and dusts herself off.
"So, what do we do? Just wait in here for whatever's out there to get here?"

"Weeeell..." The Traveler looks over at the door. "The front door can only open if we're somewhere. Since otherwise there's nothing to be on the other side of the door. So, if we can open the door, then it's safe to look out the windows. Although perhaps a bit redundant"

Fune yelps and whizzes behind the Traveler's head, peeking out comically from behind it.

"So it's okay if I try opening the door?" Titus walks over to the door and prepares to open it.

Titus opens the door very slightly and peeks through it. If it seems safe he opens the door.
