Edward shakes his head. He pantomimes as he speaks.

"Well, well, well, pal, listen now. Here's the way I see it. Imagine this.

We're on the back of a massive space whale. I'm holding a detonation pack with both hands, arming it, and attempting to plant it on the whale.

Problem is, I'm holding it with both hands.

On a space whale. In space.

I'd float off.

But if my handy friend Frank had a harpoon stuck in the whale while I was planting that detonation charge, I'd probably stay on the whale.

You catch my drift? You're not here to do damage, so to say. That's what I'm gonna be doing. You're here to make sure I don't die while I'm doing the damage, because I'm otherwise a total idiot that would die when planting those explosives.
"

Edward nods several times. He then turns back to the doctor.

"Hmmm, how to speak to another intelligent individual...

'Yo bro! I totes need that harpoon from yer! I just needs one. I'm far too... bradical to fetch it from the ship's storage...'
No, that's not right. I didn't emphasize the bradical part enough.

Look, pal, can I take one harpoon? You have five. Don't do it for me. Do it for the profits. Do it for yourself.

And most importantly... do it for Frank.
"

Doc Grabs one of the Ship's many Harpoon and Throws it by Frank's head, Nearly hitting him in the ear.

(Meant to say Edward, not Frank.)
Edward catches the harpoon. He passes it to Frank.

(Coolrune, I actually put 5 harpoons in your inventory from the ship's stock long before this to avoid this sort of thing. The harpoons he bought are actually weaker than your own. I mean, unless its the Harpoon-20 you're going for. You could either pretend a Jackbot sort of rolled by and handed you some, or you could just sort of "forget" you had them on you in a fit on insanity. Or pick a third option. Up to you. Orrr you could resolve the situation while I'm making this post. All right then.)

"How rude of him. But thank you nonetheless. I appreciate the elaboration on your combat tactics and my place in them as well."

Edward inclines his head.

"Rude? How so?"

Edward further inclines his head.

"But it was such a beautiful pass!"

"I suppose I agree with you on that count."

(I'd really prefer not to spam this thread with npc dialogue too much but here I am doing it anyway.)

Edward nods several more times, then turns on a heel, and leaves to explore the ship. He seeks loot. Or, coffee machines. Or both.

Edward swipes the sheet right out of Andel's hands, and pores over it.

"Interesting... yes... lovely handwriting..."

He is holding the sheet of paper upside-down, but is pretending to understand what it reads.

"Are you sure we need this 'Teuurt'? And why does it cost 00V? Is that a new currency?"

((If my antics become too light-hearted, tell me and I'll become more serious. However, with the general concept of the game being so interesting, I don't really think you'll mind my insanity :P))
Having been lost in thought for a second, Andel jerked as if he'd finally heard the words Edward had said.
Then he stared.

"Have you lost your mind? Or your literacy? In any case, is it a good idea to purchase these things or not?"

Doc. Walks up behind Andel and Whispers to him...
"Dan't ask him, He's to Dumb to get Obvious a Threat, So use your own judgement."

Grudgingly, Andel purchased the items on his list, which would leave about 115 credits left over. Hopefully he'd figure out something to do with them before they left.

Edward pauses before leaving.

"If you think that strange alien magic gobbledygook on your list will be useful, then by all means purchase it.

Just remember, before you do s- holy crap, you've already bought it all.

That was quick.

In the grim dark universe of the- no wait that's not quite the right setting. Anyway Edward only finds decaf in his search. He could start it in the machine if he so desired.
