Today's theme.
Well, if you can't beat them/join their side, take over their bodies.
clone 3:small scale matter annihilation won't instantly nuke me at close range, right? do two things: one, extinguish those blazes on him with aforementioned small scale matter annihilation. Follow up by "infesting" him, using our nanites to keep his husk alive. We can work on replacing his limbs and such later...
Squad 1: we need to eliminate whatever the hell it is effing up our drones. Remain stealthed, but get to it. Keep an eye out and begin counterintelligence. If we can find whatever is wiping our drones: I'll do small scale matter annihilation to try and disable the hostile's weapons, then have my two clones gray goo harmonium launcher the hell out of it.
Clone 4: keep moving, get up there and scan the area for hostiles. If the coast is clear, break camo and sprint for the building, then re-stealth and creep your way up. Better to leave anyone moving into the AO to think they lost sight than that there's stealth soldiers.
Artillery:full recall to a somewhat open area within line of sight of squad 1 and spread out to avoid multiple losses a second time.
#3: Matter annihilation is basically turning matter into energy and you know, turning one gram of matter into energy causes about 21 kiloton explosion. You would be turning nanograms of matter into handgrenade sized explosion and that only serves to spread this horrible sticky fire more. So... not the brightest idea, considering your body mass is melting little too fast here for your liking. You are better to teleport yourself and what's left of him onto closest roof that's not on fire yet. Which you do. But a little too high, which requires you to use gravity manipulation to prevent even more damage from being done.
As soon as you safely land you start harvesting undamaged parts of his armor (at least those what you managed to teleport) to rebuild your own and at the same time you check his health and general status. Beneath his powerarmor he's wearing another armorset, a plate armor of some kind. It's mostly around his chest, biceps and forearms. And under that he got an airtight skin fitting latex suit that covers his body and head entirely. And a gas mask. It's rather unusual for a soldier to bring his fetish gear to battlefield.
Huh, he's not breathing. His heart isn't beating either. Well that sucks. How to deal with this? Perhaps you could cut his chest open and stimulate his heart physically? If you start right away you may even prevent any brain damage due oxygen deprivation. Sounds like a solid plan. You reform your right hand into a blade and cut the latex suit into shreds, revealing a bunch of tubes full of water crisscrossing underneath. Hmm, multilayered latex suit? Cool, but very irrelevant to you. You keep cutting into his chest, grinding ribs open and reaching his heart. Very carefully you reform your hand into a shell around it and start pumping it with equal care.
You are in middle of performing CPR on him when you, him and everything within 80 meter radius stops existing.
Squad 1: The thing is you don't see who shot your hunter killers. Shimmering of superhot air against stars tells you the direction, southwest, but it's too dark to deduce the point of origin. You could fill airspace in that direction with matter annihilation explosions, but there's no quarantee you actually hit anything and most likely you will only end up tiring yourself out. Regardless, sitting doesn't solve anything so you get moving. Ahead of you a column of slow moving cars filled with people passes the roundabout, they came from east and continue to west towards closest fire. From building right behind them six people crawl out. Looking through scope your rifle they don't seem very human. Scaled skin, long sharp claws, equally sharp teeths, bloodied appearance, bloodied local clothing randomly pierced by bone spikes growing from their skin.
You make it little past the building #4 is aiming for when brilliant flash of light comes from direction where #3 went to. It's immediately followed by sound of very large explosion and little later pieces of falling concrete start bombarding the area. Was that a fucking bunker buster nuke? Shit, you are not equipped to deal with this level of weaponry!
#4: You keep running after squad one with walking hunter killers and almost reach the building when city behind you explodes.
Consider all optics anywhere near you shattered.
taking the mortars and mortar launchers, if I can just quickly stash the dart gun remains on my back so I can have it rebuilt later on, otherwise just ignore the mutant men and keep stealthed moving south west through alley ways as fast as I can.
Edit:decided to move west seeing as moving east resulted in more muties.
Fire chaff grenades torwards those drones that i've been firing at. Seems its time to move out and can't have them following.
If I detect any super soldiers try to move behind them and fire on them.
Drones will return to me and stay low to the ground hovering just above me and inside my sensor ranges, they are to make sure they keep some buildings between them and the other drones they've been shooting at, other then that they will fire if they detect any super soldiers coming near following the same rules as above or if something from the direction of those drones I've been firing at gets near
Non particle cannon drones will remain situated around the particle cannon drones to help shield them, only moving out of the way to let the particle cannons fire safetly.
the above sound good to you for my bug out plan?
Ok, mortar and three rounds of each picked up. Only that much because seriously, where exactly you are keeping all your guns? You have an anti-materiel rifle, assault rifle, machinegun, now lightweight mortar and few rounds for it, broken very normal dart gun, 43 different grenades, 9 pike missiles and two very big linear particle accelerators hanging on you somewhere. Plus all the ammo those and all your built-in weapons need. You are an walking armory and hammerspace doesn't exist. Invisible you may be, but soundless you are not. All that stuff on you is bound to clank against your armor and each other, especially if you are moving faster than walking.
Two chaff grenades fired. Kinda unnecessary because it appears those enemy drones are doing exactly same as yours are; getting low and relocating. Where do they go, you can't tell because your flying eyes are too low.
Back to west it is. Your running causes plenty of clankery noise which most definitely gathers attention of those monsters. There's few on west as well, as you discover and punt them into early grave. You turn south from first intersection backtracking your route here and then west again from where you dodged spiderman's first direct attack.
At the moment nobody bothers you. Except those lizard monsters, but based on sounds they seem to be mostly east of you.
Your ears and sonar are disturbed by a rather large explosion from northeast. Bigger than what your particle cannons have caused so far.
Lets try to not get noticed so going away from the 3 soldiers (stealthily). If there is a side-street I could hide in, hide in it so I can start working on the drone.
You are in a fourway intersection right now. North is out of question and so is south. It'll be either east or west then. Coing flipping time. Hmm, east it is. Only ten meters and kick open some random door to hide in. It's not like their current owners really care. Actually they do. Five people strong mob jumps on you as soon as you get inside like wild animals, drooling and growling. Elderly man and woman, and three children. Your shouldermounted machinge gun spurs into life and unloads bunch of bullets on them while your zombies waste their bullets on ceiling. The end result is five corpses bleeding on your shoes.
Massive explosion, the biggest yet, shakes the building and kicks old dust down from ceiling. Sounds like big guns are out now.
Recon South: Keep on him. He'll probably want to vacate the area since the drone spotted him; reestablish where he is and see if I can get a killshot of him. Pursue and destroy, basically. Make sure not to get caught off guard by whatever's moving on those rooftops nearby.
Recon North: Dammit, gotta get a move on. Wait until the three guys get downstairs and use my psychic aimbot to take them all out with a grenade, or failing that, a flash grenade followed by coordinately killing them all while they're incapacitated.
Sniper/Trappers Moving to Mosque: Move up to reinforce Recon North for now, help killinate those guys in the building. If that completes this round, then move on.
Sniper Origin (the one staying at the origin point for now): Keep an eye out for any targets, elsewise look for another sniper nest better than this one (that isn't the mosque the other two are going to).
Sniper South: Keep a keen eye for that power-armored dude. He should be moving away from those three crazy ISIS dudes now that he saw me kill one of them, with luck it'll bring him into my line of sight.
Sky High Drone: Swear vengeance against the bastard who murdered my brother What's that rooftop movement? Don't get too close, don't wanna be spotted.
Third Drone: Yeah, let's cruise away from that area in general, there's gonna be a big boom there soon or I'm not a psychic hivemind. This drone ... go check out what those cars are doing. The ones running around and stuff. What's a Colonna?

Disturbing sensations grow constantly regardless who goes where. You have no way of telling if it's Recon South who's getting closer or if the target is approaching otherwise. Well, actually when recon south turns to run back sensations do not disappear or weaken so clearly they are not the ones in range. They however cannot see him anymore. Too many crazy people in the way. Maybe you should just bisect everybody indiscriminately by waist and rearrange pieces into neat circles. Or maybe you should just shoot yourself? That idea is starting to feel frighteningly good... Actually, why not? These people are witnesses even if their mind is long gone. May as well send some of them onto Moon. Except Moon isn't visible. Damn.
Recon North: Murder must happen. Voices demand it. Return souls of the dead. You would want to ignore those voices in your various heads, but the truth is that these terrorists must die. So invariably you end up obeying voices. Hopefully it won't open avenue for more nice orders. So two of the team north sprints forward eyes ready to lock on targets while third watches the stairs intently. Three terrorists fall down with cubic parts of their heads being teleported in neat pile next to Sniper Origin. Someone tosses a grenade down while peeking down from stairs. You teleport half of it back into his hand while you all dive into cover. Glorious violence!
Sniper/Trapper pairs: Moving like a wind in great vertical desert made of marbles! That means really fast.
Sniper Origin: Little more chunks of brains and you could play Jenga with them. No! Stop thinking that! Those are not your thoughts! Focus on killing! Like that patrol at the mosque! Boom! Headshot!
Sniper South: No sign of people in power armor. Clearly the fucker bailed out and got eaten. In a meanwhile you could carve some neat arabic script into your arm. With something. Like by breaking the scope of your rifle and using glass shards? Nope. Nope! NOPE!
Sky High club: A dance floor for lizard people of lizard pope! Seriously, those people have scales and assload of horns on them! ...you are hallucinating, aren't you? Lizard people don't exist. Or do they?
Third Reich: Glorious car chase scene! The drone chases after them. Video feed shows more of those alien space lizards! Damn aliens, always after our water! That's why this area is so dry, isn't it? Conspiracy! Arabs are all aliens from space who drained all water from areas they conquered! You job here is now thousand times more important when you can see the tru... No nonononono, that's not true! "THIS IS NOT REAL!" all of you scream.
((Colonna. That's what I get writing these in middle of night. Inventing new words. I meant a column of cars. Sorry.))
However that explosion originating from the glowy area proves that you are indeed a psychic hivemind in middle of very delicate process of sliding down into funtown where caretakers are nice and wear white coats and... EXPLOSION! It's most definitely real. It very literally levels few city blocks and severely damages eight or ten more around. Did someone seriously bring weapons of mass destruction? Wasn't that supposed to be against rules?
Yeah, I'll remember that for next time. Focus on not dying at the moment. If any mutants show up, kill them.
The fake sun turns into a massive explosion, definite killradius of hundred meters. You are completely outclassed in terms of firepower, aren't ya?
((Apparently I fail at alphabet too. How's it go again, ACBDEGFH?))
((And you keep calling David Daniel. I don't think either he or I mind.
))
Henry squad:
The riverbed seems acceptable.
We should move quickly before the tactical situation changes.
What are these monsters?
Are they mutated civilians?
What idiot thought this makes an acceptable weapon?
Gunther squad:
We'll run ourselves down before this tide stops. Need to find the source.
Assuming the effect is circular we can triangulate the epicenter with the three of us, if we spread out.
Individually the mutants are not a threat, but they have the advantage of mass and stupidity. We may need to consider moving to rooftops.
The mutants seem to be a civilian targeting weapon or potentially a way to distract and slow down opponents so the real super solider can strike. Best be careful
Squad H move to riverbed and stay low get to a good spot to shoot the invisible gunners then stay hidden and open fire when the next firing reveals there position after firing Drop a TOC grenade and find hiding spots incase the shooters survived. Squad G spread out and try to locate the source but stay close enough to rush to the others aid if they start being overwhelmed
((Sean: it's Daniel in my files. Dunno where I copied it from.))
It's very effective weapon(?) against fleshy targets. If some super soldier remained meaty, then they would be certainly disabled by this, making killing them easier. Also very effective against conventional ground forces since biological and chemical warfare is banned. Nobody would expect this or be prepared against it. How was this archieved in first place? The rather large part that is a scientist in you is intrigued.
Henry & Co.: You lot make it to the riverbed easily. As you predicted, it goes on north/south axel. It's about two meters deep at worst, 30 meters wide with gentle slopes. On the bottom is two meter wide paltry stream. About 150 meters south where it meets another bridge, it turns into constructed canal. How far it continues, you can't see. You lot hop down and start making your way south. Unfortunately no more sky cannon firings happen.
Squad "I'm not Justin Bieber, bitch": These mutants seem fairly easy prey. Assaults stay outside, cutting through swathes of lizard monsters while Günther sprints inside a building with intention to make it to roof. However he gets instanty ganged on by three lizardmen who try pitifully claw him. He ends up cutting them half in vertically, but is unable to avoid blood and gore sprouting out. It covers most of his outer armor cameras. Not that they are very useful in current lighting conditions. He goes upstairs finding partially eaten corpses along the way, and discovers roof access already open, apparently forced from outside. Are these monsters migrating? Clearly people here weren't mutated... Meanwhile numbers of mutants outside have been cut down to five. Dropping numbers supports the hypothesis of them migrating around. They are kinda gaunt, but their muscles are definitely stronger than they should be. Are they wandering after food? Which in this case could be other humans.
Now, survey from roofs results following discoveries: There's a column of cars that came from east on other side of this building. They may be investigating that fire/smoke pillar which, by the way, appears to be burning transport helicopter on open flat area. There's also single container identical to the one you were carried in. Sky appears to be clear of drones, except one coming from southeast. Quite standard looking quadcopter. As for mutants, you spy few on rooftops in south-southeast. Oh, and two largish puffs of some metallic appears 300-400 meters in south near a dust cloud. Careful ping with active radar proves it as some type of concealment cloud similar to your TOC grenades. Someone is clearly trying make themselves harder to detect.
Then the glowing area in northeast explodes, as if it was hit by a rather powerful bomb. The explosion completely turns few city blocks into dust and flying pieces of concrete that will soon start falling down like a rain of pain. It's like being in between hammer and anvil here: no safe place anywhere.
