4 days until deadline.Yes let's prank everyone.
Try this! Through what ever means possible
And a bit of tech stealing too while I am at it.[/b]
Well, scientist upgraded your body and permitted you to run wild, so maybe you have just enough time to find one of his competitors. By the way, you are now literally part of the combat body, and there's three of you. You very literally have case of split mind. Each of the brains in you is capable taking control anytime, so have fun roleplaying that.
But off into pranking round you go. You probably better leave the Particle Rifle behind... Nah, you'll shoot your way out if you get found out. Anyway, you found address of one target when you visited the main office. And let me tell how much attention it gets when two and half meter tall, heavily armored robot walks in with three meter long super weapon like a giant dick. Transformer-esque even, when you open all built in weapons in your arms, legs and head. And invisibility is fun trick too, it lets you walk around unseen, but you can't quite conceal your heavy steps. People hear you stomping in. Your extreme sensor suite makes world look like thermonuclear explosion of colors and sensations.
Fun times. Especially when new your body is so fast and you don't have to sleep. Location of your target is reached at late night. What kind of praks you were going to play?
Physical stuff is too slow! Release the nanite. Just replicate from some underground material, get some computronium up to speed things up, mine the needed material for my projects, and help with production. Presumably the nanites will be faster at enacting my physical plans.
Also, start converting the oceans and atmosphere into nanites. No one will notice probably, and that way I don't need to worry about sinkholes.
Priority 1: Grand Unified Theory of Everything: Develop a working understanding of all the things.
Priority 2: Wormholes
Priority 3: Fusion Power: The longer this takes the less appealing it looks, but abandoning it midway is also irritating.
Priority 4: Nuclear Transmutation: Material Shortages are for losers! Synthesize all the things! Vow vengeance against the company for limiting my genius by witholding the tech gifts I was planning to give them.
Nanites will be faster once you have sufficient quantity of them. They grow expotentionally, but starting with only one is still slow. Regardless it is a start. By next morning you have 5 meter wide shallow hole in the room you released nanite. By morning after that it probably has consumed 20 everything within one kilometer range, except powerlines that keep you alive.
Grand Unified Theory of Everything:
Now this is something grand. You spend good time trying to stick all your updated theories together but find they don't quite snuggle with each other nicely at all. Which doesn't suprise you at all. Then you modify theories in various ways hoping to come up with solution, but you only find more questions because even after modifications they don't fit together. This leads you to conclude there's a fairly large number of secrets uncovered. Science to do.
Wormholes:
Slloooooowwwllyyyy constructing exotic matter builder. That matter is absolutely necessary to hold wormhole open. At current rate it takes two days more before you can ditch this dirt hole.
Fusion Power:
Slloooooooooowwwwww. Man, you need your nanites already. Wish they were faster. Three days!
Nuclear Transmutation:
In theory nuclear transmutation is easy, just mess with these basic forces, toss energy here and matter there, and out comes whatever you want. It takes probably three days to build the transmuter.
On this new morning your nanites can participate construction. They can get two days worth of construction done in one day, but that means they are not duplicating during that time. So divide them as you see fit.

Yes let's prank everyone.
Your builder says otherwise, so guess you are not pranking anyone. You would activate every metal detector anywhere, thanks to nice metal coating inside your skull.
No, he doesn't. He's staying right here.
Manufacture the final exosuit thing, with the three brains he got as well as three generic test subject brains, fission reactor, terrorizer, and weapon hardpoints.
It took only two days to finalize the exosuit, discovering and fixing few mistakes in your earlier designs. Also connection port added into your soldier's head for the wired connection port. I think the exoskeleton used electric motors for mobility, right?
Unless I have mistaken, you still have one day saved for extra progress.

Get a ton of telescopes, binoculars, and body armor for central me too then. Make sure to practice with them so I'm adept with coordinating maneuvers and stuff.
Oh, also test out if VR-type gear that lets me see through a camera fully without any separation from a screen lets me teleport through placed cameras and such.
Like Oculus Rift-type stuff, though I know that's mostly amateur hour even for the Company, let alone the scientists.
VR stuff doesn't help. If photon wasn't directly reflected from the object before entering your eyes then you can't target it. Or so it appears within current knowledge

Let's start making sure the different parts mesh well and make sure the solder can control the suit.
Yeah, the thing is built and modified to contain newest technologies. Your soldier, who seems to be Yottawhat, takes the suit on testing whily you guide him through testing procedure, sometimes from up close, sometimes from bunker far away (for safety reasons). He learns basics of the suit usage fast enough. It is very simple thing to control after all.
The full testing suite reveals follow problems:
1: Powerarmor joint locks won't always release after firing the railgun. He basically have to drop all weight he possible can before locks release.
2: After seventh test fire the railgun explodes on his face, destroying his whole sensor suite. The railgun is totally fucked. Unsalvageable.
3: Jump jet thrusters melt if he runs them more than 20 seconds continuously.
Testing your things is good. Testing is important! Always test your things! Everything not mentioned works as marketed.

I so want to find/build a EMP generator, but I can't do anything because GM keeps throwing stuff at me to prevent my actions from going through.
I totally forgot you. We have here so many posts and rolls going on that I totally forgot your plan. And it didn't help that I put you into separate file instead of using Ozarck's. Well, scientists do have higher priority until end of the month.
And I said to remind me every day. Let's say you get in contact with suppliers and negotiate price, all without intervention from the company. Either you are lucky, or they are waiting for your move. So step 3 done. Except you better tell what kind of stuff you just bought.
But your scientist here has gone into full crazy mode... Does this warrant reprioritization of plans?
acquire resources (here I should have a head start against the Meshanblovs simply for having grey goo well in advance - also, why wasn't resources a limiting factor for him before? You don't need to answer that, I can think of good reasons, just curious if it was taken into account before we went off the rails), continue expanding, continue project ascenscion. Be careful not to upset the natural state of the planet (I don't want to destroy the world or anything), though I expect I could get a lot of iron and stuff from deep underground. Energy shouldn't be a concern, with my Annie Plants.
Edit - if I encounter Demon Spoon's nanite, I intend to absorb them into my collective, and to prevent him from destroying the planet that way.
research hunter killers, and psionics. If those work out, design a laser (variable wavelength?) with a portable annie plant for power.
I would like the USS to be modular. that is, rather than one homogenous mind, it should retain some individaulity among the units, though with an overmind to keep thing harmonious. that will allow for remapping minds to individual bodies more easily. It should also allow for more creativity and adaptation than having one single thoughtline.
Simple answer is: the scale. Longer answer is that resources became limiting factor now that you two have upgraded the scale you are working. For example your Annie plant takes roughly 75 cubic meters. A lot of space to fill, plus the whole spaceship hull around it you are planning. For Meshanblov creating enough exotic matter to stabilize a wormhole requires fairly large intake of unusual materials.
Replicators tunnel under the facility, partially carving out the space where spaceship hull will be build, then tunneling futher outwards and below. By next morning there's 34 replicators and big pile of waste stone cubes stacked on parking lot.
Large loads of steel and other goodies arrives before noon (and before pile of stone starts rising outside). The six working on the project ascension hungrily eat as much of metal as possible before walking back inside and deposit materials into their own places. Before evening comes the Annie plant and Confundium control unit are built and a large meshanite shell is constructed around them. Factory swarm, hell yeah! The shell has only small holes to let nanites squeeze through. It's kinda wrong to call it a spaceship, after all it is nothing more than meshanite egg containing power generator and what's essentially a kinetic pulse engine. Nothing more.
The space has problems other than micro meteors. Radiation is one, and you are not certain how it affects your nanites. So in anticipation of that problem the hull has one layer filled with lead and another open for water, which you could get later from any ocean. Might have to run it through filteration.
Two self replicators was moved over to assist with super soldier research. Psionics are though nut to crack, so maybe extra minds can help. Which proves to right choice; one of the four happens to have a good idea while others run circular reasoning. Because it was the only good idea that hasn't been seen and tried before, all focus on it. Either something good comes out of it or you can ditch psionics as works of fantasy. Bunch of you works with theory that it is a brain that produces effects, and it requires specific form of neural connections. Research this actually fully, you don't even need to cut open any brains because you can literally stick your hand into test subjects' brains and let nanites wander inside like feeler tentacles.
What kind of psionic powers you want to make? Give one example and that pretty much happens tomorrow.
Oh, and hunter drones are done. Both flyers and stalkers.
Now you still aren't a Unified Swarm Soul, technology merely exists. But yes, once you have fully became one, you can split off individual swarm souls who can have whatever knowledge, skills and memories you already possess.
There's now 64 Ozarcks walking and tunneling around. You went past Demonic Spoon in a flash, except you don't know about it. Assign those individuals as you wish on any project like he did before his grand unification. Or do the same, and surpass him.

Keep getting used to the body. Test out any new senses I might have.
You get accustomed enough to walk and shove nutrient slurry in direction of your mouth.
You have 360° field of vision, pretty good hearing as you can determine direction of sound without moving at all. Sensing magnets is very funny feeling; you feel direction of magnetic lines moving and turning as you move and when magnetic object near you moves. Kind of tugging or vibrating feeling. Very weird sensation. Actually when you move around the building you can easily tell where power lines are in walls. On outside when it is dark you can even feel direction of Earth's magnetic fields, though it is very faint.
I check on the subject who got IR vision, and if they're doing well I give IR vision to renegadelobster and add IR training to his regimen. I also check his progress to make sure he's benefiting from the post-implantation virus injections he and his body were given when they were separate entities. If he isn't getting the full effect, I give him another injection.
I also revisit my monster maker, improving upon the crude methods I used before. I've learned a lot since then. My goals are to make the transformation faster and more complete. I've managed quick growth before but I want to push it to the point where there are consequences. Pain and unpredictable growths are fine, as is a small amount of lethality, though if the transformation is too deadly it would hamper the subsequent rampage. I also touch up the mortar design, making it properly sized for renegadelobster to carry around.
I then request a variety of submachine and machine guns from the Company, for testing in the near future. As well as a range of heavy maces, with the smallest being about the largest size a human could wield with one arm. Tarantula isn't Brutus, but it can still handle pretty heavy weapons. I need to figure out what size exactly to get the best set of equipment I can. It's probably best to put this off at least a day, though, so renegadelobster can build a bit more coordination.
He's doing pretty well. Soldier's regimen expanded. See his progress above. I'm assuming he got new injection after second transplantation.
Making Monster Maker transformation faster is easy, though reworking the system into smaller Tarantula portable is not as fastly done. Do you want to make any additional changes beyond speed? You could switch from
epidermodysplasia verruciformis to real scales and larger body shape alterations beyond randomly protruding bone cancers. There's no limits what you can do here. Make affected people see Tarantula as safe parent figure who they shouldn't attack? Simply messing with pheromones should be enough for such effect.
Weapons will be delivered on next morning.

Also. Mach 9?
I mean. I'm not complaining. I'm just imagining how the test went.
"SAM-Bow, test two, damage potential. Maximum draw."
*shhhhhclick*
"Fire one!"
*TWA-BANG!!*
*shards of window fly everywhere, everyone recoils, a few people have to pick themselves off the ground*
"Okay, who designed this as a stealth weapon? I think the cannon may have been quieter. Damn. Adjusting to range. Fire two!"
*TWA-BANG!!*
Well the arrow isn't heavy, only around 175 grams I think. And the bow's power is largely dictated by the control box rather than pulled string, so it is easily configured into stealth levels. That Mach 9 would be only the maximum.
((I think I'll need to clarify next time. I don't want precise math, I just literally have no idea how powerful the thing is, so I need to know what I can shoot with it. I.e. is it good against vehicles, and up to what range if it is. I've no idea how to phrase such a question without making it sound like, well, a Tinker question.
It's an unknown quantity, and someone needs to quantify it - and it probably shouldn't be me. ))
Also, Meshablov - Santa Claus will notice.
((Same with the burst-fire thing. Either I expect you to look up what a RARDEN is, or I just give you the relevant information. Because without that information even I would think that the unit would topple over firing even one 30mm shell standing sideways. And even though I designed the thing, you're the GM, so I need you to tell me how the thing works out.))
Okay, plan for the day - leave the damn descriptions short!
Thankfully, there's not much to describe.
Daily Activity #1: Set up the brain growth array. Optimistically, go for 24 brains. If the setup can't handle that, do 12. Do as many as the setup can do up to that number, basically. That's two days for growth, correct?
Daily Activity #2: Beating a dead velocicatraptor. I mean unit armor testing. Take that brainless body and have some guys from Security (with their rifles, grenades, knives, a sledgehammer, etc) to inflict some damage on it, monitor the results. Take it outside to get shot at with 20mm or 30mm rounds if we can manage it.
No armor thickness questions. I just want to see if a few conventionally armed humans can inflict damage to an immobile Artax unit, and where/how severe. The eyes are probably the most important vulnerable area (as they tend to be), the rest of the thing is pretty resistant to blast shockwaves and impacts, and the dragonscale is probably bulletproof, but I want to make sure.
More to the point, I'm planning to design an "external armor layer" - a coat of plates, as it were - and I want to try and identify "problem areas" that need extra attention. Treat this as research leading up to that.
Daily Research #3: Weapon feeds and needs. Ammo feeds for the autocannon and sidearms both. There was a tiny description bit before that was sort of vague, but the autocannon is secured with "servo-clamps". Means I want it to be discardable, like if the unit needs to lose mass or be stealthier. So if it's not, make it so. All changes go directly to production line, as usual.
And... that should be it. Atreyu is already working with the sim, assistants are already occupied, and there's nobody else that works around here. Maybe succumb to curiosity and check on that assistant again? Did she pursue a different venue, or decide to stay with the lab against her better judgement?
Semi-in-character list of "things to be done before the project has to go into testing":
Mandatory:
- Synth-brain, Synthetic Consciousness.
- Synth-skin | Dragonscale.
- Sensor suite: Optics, sound, temperature/contact/tremor, IR/UV, ultrasound, passive radar, active radar.
Optional, in order of decreasing importance:
- Training with body, and any optional equipment.
- Armaments, ranged: Autocannon Turret, small arms. Superalloy/myomer bow.
- ammo feeds/reload mechanisms
- custom ammo?
- External armoring: superalloy half-plate barding?
- Armaments, melee: Sword? (Hyperalloy preferred)
- Apparel: Military combat gear redesigned for different body.
But I feel obligated to answer when I'm asked. You could ask "Can I skewer fifty people with this?" or "Does that guy behind armored car survive?" to which I can answer "yes" and "no" respectively.
With the autocannon it's all about posturing.
#1: Two days to grow a full brain, yes. Ten was started yesterday, so I might just as well say it was 12 after all. To match with numbers. But you extend the line 24. So you'll get twelve brains each day starting on tomorrow.
#2: It's a really good thing you test the armor. Really good. Blunt force doesn't do anything, nor do shockwaves which is as predicted. However sharp forces into same area repeatedly, such as by knife or rapid automatic fire from close distance, will cause the flexible weave and myomer tear up and drop scales from damaged area. You should test things more often. Never trust yourself or anything you insert into yourself. Radiator wings break fairly easily unfortunately, like do eyes assuming someone manages to hit it. Maybe invent eyelids?
#3: Yeah, clamps done alright, I probably would have missed that discardable part. But that's why we will go through soldier design later with higher detail in terms what it has and what it can do. And feeder system for autocannon is finished and halfway done for revolvers.
Atreyu stops by to inform you that he finished generic design for hyperalloy production, and specialized one for claws and teeths. The generic design is a simple base design which produces 10cm * 10cm hyperalloy plates, but is relatively easy to adapt for another outputs. Better if you push these into production so nobody catches on. He will continue with the hyperalloy sword. Does your scientist actually know any sword fighting? I kinda assume he does because you want swords.
HR lets you know that she's still working with the Company, but they don't think you are eglible to know any more details about Company emplyees. Privacy reasons, you know? If you want to date Company employees, there's a site for that.
