Braincase!
Mere idea is turned into reality by your fuming brain and skilled hands. Lots of sugary energy drinks are sacrificed for sake of your higher brain functions. The braincase contains everything it needs keep brain alive and protected, even battery and nutrient packs and filters are contained within which makes doubly bigger than avarage human skull. Only the built in MMI can be used to open the case for replacing parts. Battery cannot be changed without auxiliary power being plugged in to ensure the thing is powered all the time.
Of course there's external mechanism opening it in emergency situations, but it requires some special effort to get through. Like ten minutes of dedicated work on timer. So not really that good for actual emergencies.
Regardless, job well done. Whose brain are you gonna stick into your prototype?

Ballin! Delve deeper into the monk shit, see if I can't find some guide to enlightenment that I can try speedrunning.
Sorry bud, those mantras are all you have. Everything else you find in internet are only scams. Or porn.
Oṃ Amideva Hrīḥ. Oṃ Amideva Hrīḥ. OM TARE TUTTARE TURE SOHA! FUCK SO MUCH PORN!Curious George shows some curiousity on what you are doing and sticks bunch of injections on you before dragging you on operation table and giving you suprise brain surgery. I hope you aren't too attached to your hair.
So, is OPERATION: HOMEGROWN done? The idea of it was to make the test beds. I suppose not necessarily?
OPERATION: HOMEGROWN
Step Five: see if there are ways to accelerate neuron growth to ensure minimum length of time to interface with TG and other modules. Since the apes are comatose and their neural patterns manipulable by virtue of Homegrown's invasive techniques, there's not much worry about
OPERATION: WE HAVE WAYS
Question of the day: what could the signal be? What could it be? What could it be? Something less obvious, perhaps? Something related specifically to brains?
OPERATION: ALL-SEEING EYE
Step Six: design a high-priority hivemind module, its owner's thoughts and desires taking high priority over those of the rest of the minds in a network.
Step Seven: grab that guy who's doing monk shit and install into him improved learning ability, improved reaction times, incentive module, killswitch and improved coordination.
Step Eight: do a followup scan on my Assistants. How are they integrating? Any issues? Anything interesting? Have the lab techs submit them to a few rounds of testing. In essence, if there is still data to be gleaned from basic testing, go ahead and get some.
Well I suppose it is done. Test bed is done and Well you declared secondary goal being understanding of TG-R readout which is not completely done by my notes.
By the way, as amusing as this format is I find it easier when I have absolutely concrete goals to roll for. This pattern is going worryingly into direction of ER Tinkering which is not good at all which is why I have to pull stops on it now. I can't do this tinkering style because it makes me feel obligated to give sensible answer which simply cannot happen with your practically magical tech. Throws me off the train, so to speak. We are not here to understand inplausible technologies, we are here to make impossible possible by wiping our arse with reality.
Like these operations lack absolutely clear end goal prototype. For example OPERATION: HOMEGROWN you said the research goal being "growing more exact model objects to study TG with." What are you going to do with that information? What kind of supernatural homegrown module you want to build based on it? Same with OPERATION: WE HAVE WAYS. "Dissect and understand the principles by which TG-T operates". What kind of weapon or support device you want to make with that information? If you want a neuron module thingy for controllable teleportation based on TG-T then you can say something like "build teleporter brain module based on TG-T". That's good, that has start and end. It is based on something existing so it would be easier and faster to make. It is something I can clearly roll for.
So what I'm trying to say here is that all research should have physical end product that does things. Maybe it kills things. Maybe it protects other things. Maybe it makes things go crazy. But you can always poke it with your finger even if you are not supposed to poke it with finger. Except major techs. Those are exceptions.
I hope this doesn't dissuade you from playing because I kinda want to see your very different approach for super soldier business.
Hmm, gonna put this ooc rant into spoiler.
OPERATION: HOMEGROWNWell you have this one you discovered applied on both hivemind and TG modules (and the incentive module, almost forgot that one), otherwise you would be waiting weeks for each to grow. Of course you could always make it faster, though no particular way comes into mind.
OPERATION: WE HAVE WAYSLet's see, what was the question again? TG-R communication medium? You are pretty damn sure you can't detect it with any mechanical way. The pattern acts like some sort extradimensional antenna or something. Very weird shit going on here. Not to say the coordinates it outputs to TG-T are any normal three dimensional ones.
OPERATION: ALL-SEEING EYEAlmost done with the master mind. Having one mind assert itself over others is not easy.
That wannabe monk is screaming buddhist mantras while watching eyes wide low quality representation of human reproduction process. One suprise surgery later he's appropriately imprinted on you. By the way, what is this improved coordination again? I have notes about its existance but I'm not exactly sure what it did. Poor naming on my part, perhaps.
Late Executive Producer's Assistants are doing well, thanks for asking. They feel little restricted here and would like to be released. Not from life, mind you, just from their forced servitude here. They could become top chef somewhere, one of them had such dreams, you know. Before she and the rest were kidnapped. You know? It was rude. Very rude. But there's nothing they can do about it, so they learn cooking and do what they are told to do. This kind of existance is new and exciting, you know. Do you know what one can do with multiple bodies? Things. One can do many things. If you could disable those cameras for night it would be great. No? Okay.
So in other words they are doing fine. Only thing to learn here is how to insert commands and suggestions into their transmissions, which you were in progress of doing when Terrible Glory broke your first lab.

The thing is finished, but you can't call this mere flamethrower anymore. It melts steel beams and its horribly toxic smoke is enough to dissolve avarage man's lungs within one minute. Replace the lungs with a rebreather, replace the heart with a pump, replace the digestive system with a nutrient resevoire. Can't let pesky heart beats or breaths or bodily functions get in the way of sniping or give away position. Remove genitals.
Then upgrade the eyes with high tech camera stuff. Zoom and enhance. Infrared and ultraviolet vision. Chameleon style independant eye movement and focusing. Night vision. Eyes on back of head. Hypnotic filtering. Motion tracking. Heads up display. Protect from flashbangs and glare. Etc.
Who exactly you want to geld here? Test subjects? Those you can do at anytime, but I imagine your soldier may have another opinions. Let's ask him.
Heart replacement is easy. You take one heart, rearrange muscles into rotational engine which will rotate the pump. Half of the original heart is waste so you throw it away. Oh, the test subject died from blood loss. At least blood was squirting like from a hose so that means your Heart Mk II works perfectly.
Lung replacement is a bit trickier. Probably have to stick CO2 filter outside of the body, or at least direct waste material outside so you don't have to perform surgery every time stuff needs replacement.
And eyes. You have to go largely mechanical here. A thick helmet or band around head with extensive range of sensors. Eyes cut out and photoreceptor layer flayed flat on sterile surface, projecting visible light on them directly. May as well get rid of that stupid blind point evolution left while you are at it. 15x optical zoom is simple and digital zoom increases total zoom much higher. Infrared and ultraviolet... yeah, sure. Little heat problem with infrared, but nothing untolerable.
Hey ATHATH! I think NAV wants to geld you! Permit it? Punch him? Silence is a sign of agreement!

I missed a day? Wonder how I missed yesterday's update.
as for targeting ammo - it would be potentially easier to target the volume of space within a container. Thus, for buckshot style ammo, a simple box of some kind to contain the buckshot. Accelerate the space within, air and all. For slugs, the container would simply be the chamber. Either way, continue refining our kinetic weapon. A kinetic drive for the soldier ... maybe it wouldn't work so well. But yes, I meant initially as a mode of transportation, though I could see using it as a mobility enhancement device, for making sudden, rapid changes in direction, stopping on a dime, and the like.
I postulate that neural activity is the byproduct of mind, rather than the other way around! Ahahahahahahahah. Mad science at it's finest. Feel free to sig that.
Either way, I request access to company research on previously suspected psions, and any brains with psionic abnormalities that they have laying around. vI'll even take animal brains.
In the meantime, you mentioned that perhaps psionics is an alteration of the electromagnetic forces. Well, let's design an amplifier for neural activity.
Let's rename that kinetic thingy into Confundium Harmonizer Launcher, chicken lunch ticket for short. Which you do finish easily enough. Easy is not the best word to describe, be because micrometer precision is required. Have to target 99.999999% of ammo and must not target the gun. The bullet must be in exactly right position. It wouldn't be so much problem for space ships because the entire thing will move, including the launcher. It wouldn't matter if few cubic meters worth of ground comes along part of the way.
Actually, let's talk a moment about specifics. I would normally go over this on last week before deadline, but might as well do it now. How big the bullet is? What it is made of? Variants? Hold in magnetically in spot or does it have ejectable shell? You can go wild here, but keep in mind that volume matters, not weight. Bigger volume, more power. And 9V battery won't move even a nail clippings.
The Company doesn't have any research about psions. Until recently they pretty much thought it was nothing more than a fantasy, not something that could possibly be real. But since last week they have been paying serious attention on the subject. They'll try to provide you some potential brains in few days, but no promises. It's hard to be certain about this, surely you understand, and most potential targets tend to be very notable. But they'll try.
Yes, electromagnetic forces. However normal electromagnetic fields brain generates are so weak that measuring them precicely requires magnetically fully isolated room, and that's why it is unlikely cause. Of course, that's just case with normal humans. Who knows what amplifications may cause? So in order to amplify something you must read it first precisely, then protect source from amplified effects, and finally let loose with power. Or do you need to protect the brain? Hmm. Feedback loop could be interesting.

Hm, even with these growing at record-breaking speed, I'm probably going to be crunched for time getting renegadelobster used to his. I was hoping I'd be able to determine which body is best, then create a new one for him, but it's definitely looking like I'll just have to remove the test subject's brain from the most promising body and replace it with his.
Anyway, I want to get a head start on my post-implantation adaptation tech. I give a test subject nerve endings for an extra arm, then graft one onto them with enough bone and muscle connections to make it theoretically usable. I'm not sure yet whether it'd be better for me to take the muscles and bones from the same body as the arm, or for me to use my healing serum to grow the shouldery bits joining the arm and body. I do whichever should heal faster.
Tomorrow I'll start experimenting on them to get them used to the new arm more quickly. The only difference between someone who knows how to use their arms and someone who doesn't is some changes in their neurons. There has to be a way to push those neurons in the right direction at a faster pace.
Today, in addition to giving that guy an extra arm, I continue to closely monitor the combat bodies, and devote the rest of my time to my perception research.
It's probably faster to use donor bits because then you only have to heal connection points. And other stuff you have to break in order to graft the arm in. The subject you liberate from arm and extra bits falls in coma. Probably too much of shock. It is significant portion of his upper body anyway. Could use him some other test later on. You make minimal effort to ensure he won't die in few days before mutilating another subject.
This guy gets second left arm on his back, right below his shoulder blade. Ribs are broken and rearranged, skin removed, muscles moved around to make space for new ones, new bones attached, spine and lower part of skull cut open long enough to ensure new nerves and axons can grow in their place. Then finally he's tied up tightly to prevent him from moving accidentally before he's healed properly.
Magnetoreception is arhieved by using tiny magnetite particles inside specially built cells. One cell may be able to detect only orientation, but multiple cells distributed over larger areas can detect curves too, giving ability to measure distance and direction of magnetic source. Few of them placed around extremes of a body would give quite precise sense, assuming subject's brain can learn fast enough.
Your bad boys are growing big and bad, already weight of small human. Chimera, being lightest will be fully grown in few days. Although growing is entirely wrong word here, regenerating from nothing is more precise way to describe what's happening. They are all starting from internal organs, gastric tract and primary organs such as heart.

Hm. Write down some more gibberish numbers and burn them in effigy at the shrine. This warrants further testing.
Well. If nothing else, the Universe loves to see me fail, therefore it prolongs my suffering. Let's make the most of it.
Going three-prong today: finish the MMI controls, and keep working on the supercomputer architecture and consciousness sim.
Set up the molecular sim with the task of finding a way to work superalloy. Load its old research database on the subject back in, and focus on making the material pliable. Remove the impact and acid tests, and instead add interactions with vibration at different frequencies (starting from the material's own resonant frequency), and magnetic fields of different intensity, in addition to temperature. Find a way to bend a sheet of superalloy a few micrometers thick, and fuse it with another.
Check what the volunteer is doing, and whether my build teams are playing scrabble again instead of making superguns.
((Does my research on myomers include the ability to mass-produce carbon nanotubes, or is that completely unrelated?
Also would adding my efforts to the molecular sim's result in a roll bonus? Would completing and using the MMI uplink result in one?))
You keep etching numbers flowing into your mind and somehow end up with first hundred numbers of Lucas series bacwards in base 8. What could that mean, you ponder as you stumble towards your workstation.
Mystery of Lucas series pounds your head while you finish the MMI connector program in daze.
...1, 3, 4, 7...
Numbers don't leave you alone even when you put together the super computer...
7881196, 12752043, 20633239, 33385282...
Your focus is all over the place and your body basically works on autopilot. It feels like time is slowing down as you think. The numbers, why?
...4576585175559979410668403, 7405070366464951264563599, 11981655542024930675232002, 19386725908489881939795601...
You are now staring your computer screen. Entirely new development enviroment is on foreground. Title says you made it, but... but you have no memory of writing it? And all this thousands lines of code it shows?
...744219570773534018669643532396327603218, 1204172560604435915137811840672249946229, 1948392131377969933807455373068577549447, 3152564691982405848945267213740827495676...
Make that millions of lines. What's happening? You don't understand. Did you know something, Édouard Lucas? What did you know? What secrets did you hide into your series? Where did you...
Your mind shuts down in midthought. It cannot handle this anymore. Too much for one day.
((No carbon nanotubes. Your myomers are something entirely different. No relation whatsoever.
No unless you turn your brain into wetware computer and modify the simulation so it can access it. No, despite of it being now completed.))
