If there's anyone who can restore Lamentia to its former glory, it's Princess Aife the Horribly Overpowered. I mean, sure, she probably has a 1/10 chance per year of dying to something stupid, but three positive traits? We'll have the economy up in no time at all.

See? we Were Idots.
Alongside sending promising leaders off to kill mythical beasts armed with only knives and nothing else? :P Probably in making choices like that, yes. Alongside probably being shortsighted in pursuing war goals than keeping the balance between a leader and 'winning a campaign' like the newbie mistake of most 4x games (TAKE ALL THE LANDS, NO MINE)

Ok, we habe now to pay double tribute to damdamians, and tribute later for 10 years
tribute to dwarves
tribute to dahnians

no chunug lands
Kiwi backstab (Hope Adila eat their asses, kill beren and let our child sister be queen)

Though times ahead. May the gods bless Aife.

At least our brother is a "warlord"  Aife will need get the love of her sisters and brother and see/use the better traits of each one to change the table.

We'll also have to deal with feudalism funtime--we've lost a lot of the Nobility, and Aife will be in for a lot of stuff because of the choice of rushing 'TAKE LAND'. (Also my agreement back there was to hastiness, my wording is horrible when I'm rushing!).

Also backstab Kiwi or diplomacy them to pay.

I agree we will definitely need to find a way to make Kiwi pay. I feel like if we should get a chance to strengthen our ties with Gubta we should take it. They seem like our strongest possible ally right now and we are going to be hurting for a while.

We also denied Beren several things in a row, it is no wonder he betrayed us.

On the plus side we are really no worse off then at the start, except for the heavy indebtedness.  We will just need to be frugal for a while.  We lost all our expanded lands though.  All of them.

We still have Augas, and part of... that other bit of Parsia whose name I forget. Those weren't with us at the start. But I know what you mean.

Absolutely yes. The Gubta really came through for us, offering us 3000 soldiers without complaint. Probably they don't want to see the Republic grow too strong; I'm guessing they share a border to the south-east somewhere.
And the dwarves. I feel like we can form closer ties with the dwarves, to our mutual benefit. They don't want to pay taxes? Fine. How about they serve in our military as engineers, then?
Also Dahnia. We should see about getting married to Anktuk, or Tinwulf II, or whatever he's calling himself these days. I still think we could benefit from a personal union.

Also also, we should strengthen the religion, and our control over it. Maybe we should even consider converting to Singularism. Having a new faith can really bolster the religious fervour of a nation, and if history teaches us anything, it is that pre-nationalism, nothing gets a people willing to fight like religion.
I am always inspired by the early days of the Dutch Republic, who managed to break free from Habsburg Spain, the continent-spanning superpower, through being better merchants and some religious fervour. Of course, in this case we are a monarchy trying to beat a republic, but the principle remains the same. We just need to improve our economy, instil religious fervour in the population, and install a series of complex dikes around the country allowing us to flood portions of it at will to hinder enemy troops.

We'll be keeping up both with local morale and be on defensive wars anytime soon :P

No.
We're sticking with Pantheonism; it isn't problematic at all and is open for everyone. It doesn't oppress people, and it's not mind-numbing that causes people to attack others crazily. See: Extremist soldiers--there's a seeming trend that we're (our choice majority votes) following which gains us the most, and thinking back onto all these, we're missing crucial points that in context were to be remembered--Haspen gives open choices, and some are not necessarily the best even if 'we can do this'. :P
I still feel personally guilty about Chunug though. x.x

But anyway, who among our mom's Cabinet lived? I'd love to investigate our own advisors if that were to be possible. :3
[...]we could benefit from a personal union.[...]
Reminds me of one nation I forgot the specific name of in Civ V where there was a power to gain stuff by marrying folks.

Didn't we give Khosra to Gubta for Oliphaunts (Who, to remind all, are all dead. So double-sided sword is cast away now, but we could've bargained for better prices :P)
Lesson learned though: Stick with something more stable over the years instead of 'boosts right now', and pay attention to subtle cues.

...Let's see. There was this expanded map too, given by the Northeners. There were important points labeled on it as far as I recall, but the ideas now go for 'restability of our nation'. :O
> We're going to celebrate FEASTS for every autumn festival due to our pledge
> 10 years of tribute to the Damdamians... [They're like our arch-rival at the moment :P]
> Something with the Dahnians
> We gave up the claim about the thing in the north lands; didn't know we could 're-demand' things that were written out in the past :P Something to keep in mind for the future as it seems like other than the dice, the NPCs of this game drive a harsh bargain within bounds of reason.
> No taxes for Dwarven peoples over time--that means that interest tax over time is lost, cutting our potential in economy while the Dwarves gain access to Gubta-Goods. We should focus back on the Dwarves given how we may be being exploited at this point... >_>
And that I find it weird that their runecasters only affected the Earth, but didn't fortify our darned CASTLE when we needed it. (Or acted while our zealots went and died)

I am always inspired by the early days of the Dutch Republic, who managed to break free from Habsburg Spain, the continent-spanning superpower, through being better merchants and some religious fervour. Absolute benevolent dictator is an idealistic path :D
Thing is, we can keep our nation stable and only expand when we're extremely sure about it.

**Also no sending out leaders to attack mythical creatures until we at least get ARMOR despite having weapons :P

Feasts is "only" for 3 years, besides this can help improve happiness while paying the debt

Aife will have a great problem with heirs because she is sickly, she can die. Or she cures herself fast or she will die birthing and we will have a succession crisis. Again. Or she can make sure some of her sisters baby may be the heir, the most gifted and loyal and fuck traditions?

Also, what about that cousin that married a damdamian?  She can use her "love adventure" and the "understanding of her feelings" to get in good terms with her, get some good trade routes together with Aife's lover and make the fucking population of damdamian KNOW that wrexus was killed by a plot of the senate and that the senate betrayed his words.

BUM, distrust among their ranks, let they face alone that problem and act like that wasn't our fault someone of the senate that must got drunk and told bullshitery, or one of our high officers when was being tortured by their troops.

Yes i am still amazed that we didn't thought\had chance (or i never saw in my exploration of the past) of using our heirs to other things besides marrying others like Ceodwell.

Questions to anyone who already knows (or haspen if he can  :P). i've not saw every single thing that the dynasty did so...

Titles sometimes give bonus right? +1?  If yes that can stack with traits and stuff?

In example, "Random heir number 3" know as "the loved", her/his trait is charisma, and wears the necklace. +3 bonus? he can roll a 6 and have a stupid number like 9? Man what a number like that should do?

Should Aifa die, the obvious choice to me Ceodwell.  He proved his mettle during the war and put his life on the line as well as anyone could or should. He might not be bright, but he has the heart of a lion.

With a degree of disappointment in your eyes and a heavy sigh, you take the quill and write down your name besides the mark of Caus Ticus' signet. The Damdamian smiles triumphantly, takes his copy of the agreement, bows to you curtly and then leaves. Moments later, cheering and trumpets sound in the Damdamian camp.

891 AD, Winter

You're Queen Aife, the next ruler of Luathbas.

Your country has just lost a very bloody war and a ton of agreements with other powers mean your Treasury will be constantly drained.

Quote
1to2

Your people are extremely angry at this defeat. Not only their belief in the superiority of your Army mercilessly shattered, they also lost thousands of brothers, sons and husbands. The loss of recent conquest was really just the icing on this bitter, gruesome cake.

Your courtiers convene with you to discuss a different matter...

"Your Majesty, you are known to be of rather... fragile health. We wish to know if, in case something happens, you had a choice of heir already?"

A) "Of course, it will be my firstborn child."
B) "My brother Ceodwell will lead the nation after my death."
C) "My sister Eirike will lead the nation after my death."
D) "I will let the council decide, as it surely makes good decisions."

A, with a reserve on letting our sister take over. Ceodwell isn't cut out for rulership (He is a savant in military matters though.)
