Okay. I don't think the dwarvern runecasters can make up for being outnumbered a 2.5 to 1. That's not a pitched battle we can win, but it is definitely a siege we can hold.

I think it would be best to fortify the city and wait for Augas to mop up the Damedanians they have then march to our aid.

C, whilst A? I worry as to what our army and theirs will do whilst our messenger runs around.

Also A seems more like it's the shortest time action.

B strike while the iron is hot, we push the advantage now we can get a hell of a lot more favourable terms in a peace treaty.

We technically are the unfortunate aggressors (grumble grumble Damdamian dirty negotiators), but unless our spy skills ALSO suck, we've the advantage of probably-unknown-numbers given our 'victory streak'. I mean unless our spy skills actually suck, I'm betting we've the home ground advantage here.

It's hard to sue for peace from inside a besieged castle; the attacker holds all the cards, unless we have some reinforcements hidden away somewhere (I guess Dahnia might provide 3k men, if we're lucky, but that still wouldn't even the odds).
We should send them a peace offer now. If we're lucky, their commanders will be forced to wait until the senate provides a response, giving us a few days to regroup. If we're really lucky, the Moderati will already have grown tired of the war (I doubt it; it's only been going on for a few weeks). Either way, there's no harm in sending them a peace offer, after winning a battle (if we had lost the battle, sending a peace offer would be a sign of weakness)

PS: If we somehow do survive this, we will unfortunately HAVE to make Ceodwell our heir again. He will be the True Saviour of Luathbas, we can't turn around and dismiss him as useless after that.

After almost two weeks, a group of fifty Damdamians approaches the capital city; an envoy and his guards. He is taken to a tower at the outer walls of the city, where you meet with him in a small chamber.

"May Damed provide you with long live and prosperity, Queen Elana. I am Caus Ticus, Senator of the Militari, by the will of the Senate and People of Damdamia, representative in power to conduct negotiations with you." He wears some peculiar jewellery, all of which bearing the marks of the Cult of Damed. You briefly touch your dwarven necklace, as it feels as if its vibrating slightly which seem to indicate trouble with its magic. Its only vibrations, so the Damed trinkets might be only partially affecting your necklace.

"The Damdamian Senate has decided to finally show you that you are not as strong as you believe and that you cannot do as you wish right at our borders. The war is result of the Senate's decision."

"The Senate gave me pointers what to obtain through the negotiations, and so I say this: You will part with the conquered Chunug territories which shall become a province of Damdamian Republic, and pay a ten year tribute to the Senate for starting the war that cost us so many of our brothers' lives. Furthermore, our ally, King of beren, needs to be rewarded and for this we demand that you surrender the western parts of Luathbas, which you seized from the Adila nomads, and these lands will be added to the lands of the Kiwi." He sits at a table that was brought in earlier by your men.

"I am done. Now I'm listening to you and whatever counter-proposal you might have." You sit down at the desk. You decide to begin with...

A) Expletives and orders for the guards to toss him out, as you and Luathbas will never agree to such terms!
B) Agree to it all: the ten year tribute, and ceding of territories to both the Republic and the Kiwis.
C) Agree to the ten year tribute to compensate for the loss of life, but you won't be surrendering any territories.
D) Agree to the ten year tribute, plus you will give away lands to the Kiwi, but nothing else.
E) Agree to the ten year tribute, and you will also cede Chunug lands to the Damdamians - that's all.

The Damdamians are consuming some strong herbs if they think we're going to give up these lands OR tribute. The Damdamians can piss off, we're not having them bully us out of our land. It's time to remind them that they're not remotely as badass as they think they are, either. Especially if they have to resort to this to try to get their lands back.

I propose we promote him to Grand Marshal of the Army, while Aifa becomes Queen and have that become the lines of power. Ceodwell and the men of the house handle military action, while the women control the domestic and foreign relations.

Also, those are some steep ass terms. Shit.

E. Sounds most reasonable. Beren must be punished for his insolence, but I would rather we throw this mans ass out the door. But, it is either a bitter surrender, or an even more bitter war. We much choose where we stand... For now, I must choose caution.
