A message have arrived from the Temple of Scriptures.
Ystan the Quillmaster have finished his greatest work: "The Golden Years of Houlandines", a 331-page illuminated book describing the rulership of Houlandine dynasty, from the toppling of Caucach at the dawn of 9th century, to your ascension in 871 AD. The manuscript concentrated mostly on the good side of your family's reign, accenting upon the prosperity, expansion and wealth of the people and the nation likewise.
Future historians, especially after advent of modern archeological studies in 18th century, will look down upon "The Golden Years of Houlandines" as a prime example of Houlandine propaganda that omits most of the bloodshed and instability during the early decades of your family's reign.
But hey, that's 900 years away from now. Enjoy your big tome of boasts!
881 AD, Winter
You get an update on Eisf the peasant foray into the north-eastern wilderness. Apparently his colonists settled down in a small community that makes a living by selling teak and cedar timber to the southlands. Always something, but it won't pay off in a long run. Just another village with resources on the map.

"A WHAT!?"
"My liege, tis a hydra! A real hydra!" Explains the messenger. "Them eight heads are spewing poisonous bile upon the farmlands, devouring livestock and hapless peasants in vicinity of the City of Taich in the southeast, near the orcish hills!" The courtiers murmur and some urge Your Majesty to do something. You decide to...
A) Ride forth and slay the beast with your magical knife yourself!
!B) Send the Army to cut off those vile heads and destroy the monster!
C) Hire a group of lvl40 or higher adventurers that shall kill the monsters with their high-level skills and enchanted equipment!
D) Do nothing. Maybe the Hydra will go away on its own?
