874 AD, Winter

A major change in the west have occured; the Khanate, weary of the unsuccessful fighting against the Damdamian Republic, have seen a brief civil war.

Instead of one Khanate, there's now Inkhani Tribe in the far west, The Khanate of Adila in the center, Ramo Khanate occupying the hills northwest from Duchy of Koi, and the Tribe of Chunug, the latter in cahoots with the Damdamians as they're right at their border.

Damdamian Republic have apparently secured peace with Ramo, allied with Chunug, and is preparing for incursions against the Adila, the Inkhani being of no concern to them.

874 AD, Midwinter

"And so concludes my tale." Everyone applauds Beren, and the feasting crowd disperses. The young bard however approaches you.

"Excuse me, my liege. May I interest you in another tale?"

"About what?" Beren plinks his lute.

"Oh... about two old enemies, one a tall brute and one a short schemer, who nonetheless band together to destroy a pack of wolves from the forest they both hate."

A) "Go on... it might be interesting."
B) "I'm sorry Beren, I don't have time for tales, I've got a Kingdom to run."

Oh boy, oh boy, we have GOT to get in on that splintered-khanate action. We can't let the Damdamians expand their territory all the way west of us as well, then they would surround us on two sides. Clearly the only sensible course of action is to conquer some of the Ramo Khanate whilst secretly aiding the Adila Khanate (against the Damdanians). As soon as the opportunity arises, of course.

Meanwhile, let's hear this story.

"Are you saying that we should hire Damdamians to battle the Elves?" Beren blinks.

"I need to cover my tales with more metaphors as you're too wise for this. Indeed. And I happen to know a certain official who happens to be the cousin of the current commander of Lametania. What a coincidence, don't you agree?"

A) "Nice tale, nice coincidence, but I don't need to involve Damdamians in our wars."
B) "That is true. Mayhaps you could arrange an exchange between us and that official's cousin?"
