Future thought note for Kingly reference: Dwarves are generally somewhere distant from the west of the Khanate to call places like the Kiwi Empire as 'the eastern lands'. Although that depends on how far the Khanate now stretches.

B! Libraries to the rescue!
Wise trait! :P [Also +1]

You ask them to give you a day to check your books and scrols. They agree.

For the most of the evening you spend time in the library, swimming through books, scrolls, letters nad encyclopedias of all kinds that could ossess info related to the blue gemstones that the dwarves seek.

It doesn't take you long to delve into books about the Gubta Empire, which, after all, sells a lot of gemstones to luathbas. You read through a paper written down by a merchant, then some jewel connoisseur, then a religious ritual of the Gubta involving gemstones. Finally, you trace down at least four off-hand mentions and a specific, detailed inscription: of dark blue gemstones with brilliant lustre and hardiness revered by Gubta mystics, and which are mined in the north of the distant Empire.

You write down some notes for the dwarves and prepare a letter for the Gubta governor or some such person who would meet iwth the dwarves, detailing in it their plea and your hopes that your allies can help the dwarves find the rare gemstones.

Next day you pass the information to the dwarves.

"May you be praised, human king." The bluebeard, and the other dwarves, bow their heads slightly. "We will of course verify your words, but first, the mines. We shall embark immediatelly, and hopefully, within a year, not a droplet of water will ever leak through the walls of your mines again." The dwarves depart along with a guide and few guards.

871 AD, Summer

A wave of celebrations amongst your peasants reach you faster than the official report from the Marshal.

The Parsian Kingdom is no more! Their last king, Shashanshah II, have been slain during an attack against the Parsian capital, and the city fell to the combined forces of Luathbas and Gubta and the Kashite. The latter two dealt swiftly with the remainder of the Parsian royal family and the citizens of the fortified settlement. The Kashite then took many slaves while Gubta began burning down Parsian temples and shrines with great fervor.

The Marshal also reports that he had a council with the Gubta diplomat and Kashite prince, and they made if very clear that they want large chunks of Parsia for themselves. The Marshal, not a great negotiator, unfortunately, had to back off on some more lucrative cities and areas; thus, only a handul of Parsian settlements and fortresses between Khosra and the capital are now under Luathbas governance; the Gubtas got the largest bit of Parsia for themselves.

"Sire, these are wonderful news! Our nation has dealt with one of our ancestral enemies! Shall we celebrate it along with people of Luathbas?"

A) Have a small feast at the palace, but that's all.
B) Throw a festival for the populace, the soldiers, their families - everyone! Party for all!!
C) Let's host a festival or two and in the meanwhile hire artisans to build a grand monument of our victory right here, in the capital!

They never really wanted to war against us but...can we do "C" after "B"? I mean it's not like we can all do that later right?

Tally: (I haven't voted/not voting in this post)
1 A
4 B
5 C

Really feel like B is better. :V And technically 'wise' covers making decisions later that can still be done? :P

You should really look to the wilderness for your stealth ideas, it has been doing it much longer than you have after all. Take squids for example, that ink trick works pretty well, and in water too! So you just sneak into the dam upsteam, dump several megatons of distressed squid into it, then break the dam. Boom, you suddenly have enough water-proof stealth for a whole city!

B, let's save the monuments for at least a decade later, when hindsight may or may not justify the need for them.
