Good point. Couple of napalm grenades firestones would wreck our shit like nobodies business. I guess it's worth risking a few of our precious soldiers to aid them in whatever way we can.

On that note, what happened to the Pantheon reinforcements? I read up everything and only took note that 'people died', there's no word of them anywhere--did they just merge into our army value?

One has to think that there'd be some sort of indicator towards some warning, I mean all those mods compared to the flavor before them didn't seem...that telling.
Because ouch. That's half the d6 die! (Upon re-reading, my words are messily, seemingly aimed at the modifers as I first thought it was a -1-1-1, but now I realize the thought was more that it's not that apparent about the prominence of the siege engines bit or note of our reckless charge)

Unless the note of 'reckless charge' is us saying 'wreck havoc' and they all took it seriously. Now that's one more thing to be paranoid about! Verbal hints and cues!
