I think we should punish our daughter a little bit. The people will be upset if we let her get away scott free with consorting with the enemy.

EDIT: Why the heck is a Lamentian prince within our borders?! Shouldn't the trespassing alone be enough of an offence. You can't just Waltz into our country whenever you want.

Border controls and such are much more lax in times before nation states.  We likely have many travelers and traders regularly moving across the border whenever we are not at war.  Probably marginally taxed or something.

Could still be accused of espionage and such.
