Returning to DF: Population Run
« on: August 13, 2016, 02:30:12 pm »

So I haven't played DF in a while so I decided to come back with one of my favorite DF themes, the population run.
The Rules are simple.
1. Maintaining a high population is the first priority
2. You may only build an army if the fortress is Immediately under threat
3. You may not overuse traps (trap halls, covering the outside with traps, etc.) but traps are allowed to protect vital areas of the population serving parts of the fortress (farms, trading posts, taverns/temples)

On top of those rules I've also decided to make the fortress an open fortress and try to use most if not all of the above ground map over the course of the game.

I will be posting about important events and have my event log posted
Spoiler: Here (click to show/hide)

Population 168
Dead 8

I am retiring this fortress, kind of got bored with no "fun" coming knocking on my front door. Also I did this fortress to learn some more about dwarf fortress along with renew what I had previously learned.

You either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain

Strangely though they had plenty to drink and died near both my alchohol pile and the clean water river....
