Suddenly, the PDAs of Kohaku, Kyle, Valencia, and Lea begin to hum as an alert message pops up. Seems the first mission has been assigned. The mission details state to go to Samuel Mifune for briefing and travel arrangements.

Valencia physically jumps when the alert goes off, having caught her off guard. She looks embarrassed.

Upon noticing BE's concern, Valencia speaks up, "I just got scared by the noise. I-i wasn't expecting it... I was picked for the mission." She starts to stand up, only to sit back down, "Maybe I shouldn't go... I don't want to get in the way..." She seems uncertain.

((That would be abjectly stupid on behalf of the designers.  It's an alert, as in the Emergency Alert System kind.  It should not sound like a text message.  Even if it is.))
