Moony's Dwarf puter project

I've offically decided, im goingto build a dwarven computer, because why not?
Of course, this thread shall be the thread i share what is happening in.
I also have a question: how the hell will i make a display cell? (without water, too, notthat i know how to do it WITH water either)
Ill share the save that ill be building it in real soon

Display cell can be just as simple as bunch of linked hatches/bridges - I recall the werebeast clock used total of something like 2,6k mechanisms to spell out the 13 months.

There are those who have done it and thus know (Space Invaders, for instance), but I'd use retracting drawbridges. A black bridge atop a white floor (or vice versa). You might also create RGB "pixels" out of 3, 6, or 9 black bridges above suitably colored floors. There's a risk you can't zoom out sufficiently for it to look reasonable, though. It might be that some other color scheme works better, give the material colors available in DF, though.

Colored pixels? sounds expensive, ill prototype some. black<==>grey[Result of B + W]<==>white might be more doable
