What's the current shape of the battlefield? Who's where, and where is the fighting heaviest?
1=1
you decide to take a look around, but your vision goes completely dark.

As our helmet obviously got in our eyes, let's shift it out of our face and look again.

the main forces of the imperial guard are grouped in this artificial plain for farming. The main force of the Tyranid's are in the capitol city of Enporol, about 3 miles to the east, and are pouring out in a seemingly never-ending stream towards the plain.

A relevant quote for this situation. "Rifles don't kill people. Artillery does." Let's manuever our group to our artillery and set up to protect them so they can do their job of killing the enemy before the enemy kills us.

We should also do a head count of our troops as we are apparently the new lead.

you fail to locate the artillery.
19+1=20
There are about 20 guardsmen that will follow your orders that make sense.

Alright, let's set out at a slow pace towards the Guard, keeping an eye out for the Artillery. Make sure to watch for tyranids and hold position to properly fire on them when sighted.

Shift direction towards where we think the artillery is and continue on in the same fashion as before.

Set up lines and fire til they're dead. Afterwards set up defensive positions and wait til someone takes charge of us.

Determine the chain of command.

15=3=18
You stet up lines and repulse the assault.

Determine the chain of command.
4+1=5
you're not entirely sure, but you think the rank above guardsmen is the company commanders, but beyond that your not sure.

Determine who's directly in charge of the artillery group we're supporting. Post watchmen to keep an eye out for enemies and friendlies while we figure out things.

Politely ask one of the artillery operaters who is in charge that we should talk to, so we are better able to keep the Tyranids from killing them all.
