Kazane attempts to lift off….but only manages to jump upwards- granted, far higher than a normal person could jump, but nothing too significant- and no farther.
The marching sounds resume, before three shapes jump off the rooftop and land, with one of the shapes kicking Yuzuki in the head. The pain stings, Yuzuki notes, though it feels dulled and muted, compared to what she thinks it would be if she’d really been hit. Nonetheless, she staggers back, shaking her head as the shapes are clearer to her sight, appearing to be other players of the game just like her.
The player who kicked her in the face is a tall, sleek person in steel armor, with a face covered by a large amber visor, as if their whole face was one amber eye. Their pauldrons resemble the beaks of birds, and a steel hood covers part of their face, resembling the head of a bird of prey. A tattered cape flutters behind them in the wind, and two pairs of talon-like hooks are attached to their wrists. Their feet are shaped like a bird’s, with two claws on front and one clawed talon behind. Yuzuki seems to tower over them, with her bulk and height dwarfing their sleekness and lithe build.
However, his partners are not so small. One is to his left, with their orange body shaped like a massive spherical tank, with naught but a small cylinder on top with two yellow beads for eyes. Their arms resemble hoses, and their hands spheres with three pincer-like fingers for gripping. Finally, their legs are like cones, tapering to a small point; however, despite being nothing more than stilts, they seem to support their massive body, despite looking so precarious. What they lack in height, they make up in width.
To his right, however, the player does indeed dwarf Yuzuki, as they draw themselves to their full height- almost to the first floor of the building they jumped from. Their body is nothing but an amorphous, constantly swirling current of salty brine, vaguely kept in shape by rough coral armor surrounding their torso, their arms and feet. They have one, large black pearl for an eye, gazing down at Yuzuki. The smell of salt constantly seeps from their mass, but the ground beneath them doesn’t seem to become any wetter despite the enormous mass of living water standing upon it.
The Metal Avatar in front of her begins speaking.
“Oh, you must be those new players we saw on the matching list. Excellent. This ought ought to be fun. Come on, why don’t we test that new item we got from the boss down in Akihabara?”The Water Avatar nods.
“We could use a few extra Burst Points…..and it’s not like these newbies have a Legion. Or any way of beating us. Alright, boss!” “Alright, newbies, see if you can beat us with this!”Steel Kestrel, Ocean Duke and Carrot Bishop of the Iron Storm Legion have challenged you to a duel.A message flashes across all your faces, as HP bars begin popping up on one side and a timer appears, counting down from nine hundred ninety-nine seconds.
