Actually, could I be a former history teacher from the school who failed his final magic test and only qualified in history. He is now retaking the test, and knows diddly squat about magic. He is very old and can't remember much of his studies.

You could, since that's pretty much just a backstory. I'm not against your background flavoring your introduction to things (you can mention being rusty and remembering things and such), I just thought being a librarian or professor would be too open to godmodding. There's a reason I'm not giving anyone +1's to certain actions or anything like that until you actually get some equipment/training.

Technically if there's anything I've misnamed, it's calling Higan an alphabet. It's more of a syllabary.

Name: Akasha Hidarib
Description: A 17-year old female, with dark brown skin, piercing hazel eyes, a wide nose, and large lips. Her hair is naturally a bit of a kinky afro, but she works quite hard to straighten it, with it usually being kept in a ponytail for practical reasons. She stands at around 5'6, and while not quite fat, does have a bit of a belly, as well as some extra weight on the hips and thighs.
Outfit: She mainly wears colorful loose robes, which cover everything except her face, hands, and wrists, which are adorned in numerous bangles. When allowed to, though, she wears patterned knee-length dresses which are usually purple or blue, along with plain sandals.
Bio: Born to a large family of laborers and former slaves, Akasha was never expected to be one of major notoriety, being the third daughter out of eight siblings, including four other sisters. From a young age she had always wanted to do more than simply keep house and mother children. This proved to be a large problem for her growing up, with her ideas never being taken quite seriously, and this made her more frustrated. All of this anger eventually bubbled over into a large confrontation at a family dinner, and as a compromise, Akasha was allowed to instead learn magic, the first in her family to do so.
