It's finally ready.
Name: Souma Takashi
Gender/Sex: Male
Age: 15 ya. (first year)
Description: His body is somewhat lean, though not scrawny, with an average skin tone. The features of his face are somewhat sharpened, except for his dark brown eyes. His short hair is is a light brown shade. Generally, he likes to wear some brown-and-black flannel over a long-sleeved grey T-shirt, with jeans.
(is this stuff reasonable for a Japanese person to wear?)
Personality: Many people consider Souma a goofball. Whether he completely misses what someone says, trips at the wrong place and wrong time, or speaks seemingly gibberish. However, he’s far more than simply that. He often gets lost in his thoughts with all manner of ideas, leading him to missing what happens in the real world, including what his teachers are teaching, as well as his footwork. Even when he misses some minor details of a lesson in class, he’ll take some effort to learn it on his own time, getting him a solid A to B grade average. The “gibberish” is actually him speaking in English or Spanish, occasionally a combination of the two if he’s particularly flustered.
Pretty much no one outside of his family knows any of this, though. Many of the people wouldn’t care, anyway. They’ve always seen him as a walking gag, and while he may have a penchant for comedy, no one can take him seriously at all. Besides, he never gets a chance to be funny on purpose, and it would only make things worse, anyway. This reputation has always preceded him, which has led others to trip him or set him up for some joke or another. Souma has attempted to show off his knowledge and ability on several occasions, in hope of changing people’s image of him, but he's always managed to slip up, making things worse. Since then, he’s submitted to his reputation, since it’s not doing anyone any actual harm for now. He’s sure that, one day, he’ll get a chance to show the school what he’s really made of. Until then, he’ll never be part of the social scene (or so he thinks), so he’s spent most of his free time at home, writing down some of his numerous ideas, playing games online, trying to experiment and cook some new food (the quality varies between both extremes), listening to music, or watching television.
For the most part, he’s calm and relaxed about things. He tends to take problems rather logically, though no one can tell which sort of logic he’ll try to use. He’s been known to ask a lot of questions, and doubt the world around him. Thankfully, this helps to keep his sorta-hallucinations in check(see backstory). He’s happy to share his knowledge on various subjects, from language to history, mathematics, science, and even menus at numerous restaurants in town, though he’s gotten a little nervous about using it in public.
Backstory: Souma’s grandfather, on his mother’s side, is who he gets his Spanish blood from. He met his Japanese wife in a college in Spain, when she had enrolled at the same place to learn about European literature. They each eventually took a course in the other’s language, as they had slowly but surely fallen in love. After graduation, they moved together to Japan, where they married and had Souma’s mother. She met Souma’s father in school, and while they ended up attending different colleges, they still made time to meet each other, as they, too, had fallen in love. His mother got a job as a translator, while his father managed to work for a data management and protection company. A year or two after they married, they had Soma, and six years later, they had a daughter, Chikako. In another six years, one last member entered the household- a light orange tabby cat they named “Dulcie”
As for Souma himself, he’s had a pretty normal childhood for a while. He did manage to grow up bilingual, as his mother often spoke Spanish, and he grew curious as to how to speak it himself. However, a little past the age of ten, he began seeing things. Things like his father, when he walked through the front door, seeming to wear a suit of armor, and his new younger sister bearing wings and a halo, like she was an angel of some sort, and other such things. Whenever they happened, he thought nothing of it; he just thought his imagination was a little overactive. They tended to be bigger and more common when he was tired or sick, but they still were infrequent. When he began telling his mom about it all, she began getting worried. After a few visits to different doctors, they confirmed that it was nothing dangerous, and life went like normal. He still sees them from time to time, though, like always, he can simply ignore them, and they quickly go away. Besides, they were always fantastical enough to clearly not be real, so there was no chance of confusing them with reality. Since then, he’s managed to pick up a fair amount of English, and has wondered a little bit if he could somehow control these visions.
Weapon: A lance, preferably worn down at first.
Arcana: XVII, The Star. +Str, -Agi
Just curious, what sort of affects should we expect from the Passive role, other than HP/SP recovery?
Edit: Just fixing a few typos, etc.
Edit2: Now that I think of it, will our Personas ever evolve to a higher state, like in the games?
