Several things happen, practically at once.
Clunkers, whose attention is more on the man leaving than on the petty rivalry among the crew, sees, very briefly, a shadow at the man's back, and then a sudden spurt of very dark liquid spray out from the back of the man, spreading across the room in an arc. A Sharp snap is heard, a twang, and two high pitched buzzes as something flies past quite rapidly to lodge in a wall, and in Varion's arm.
The rest of you, focusing on the slight misunderstanding among friends see, for a very brief moment, a small figure, crouched down between Varion Nd Korvash, kneeling and facing Varion. then the figure is gone, if it ever really was there, and Varion explodes. His entire torso, from hips up, disappears, and a thick red paste coats a very large swath of the wall behind him, and the ceiling and floor. Everyone nearby gets coated a bit in his blood and viscera as well.
At almost exactly that moment, a loud bang is heard, and a small portion of the wall and ceiling behind what is left of Varion disappears as well, spraying outward into the night sky.
A moment later, the man everyone is arguing over topples forward, bending at the waist, legs frozen by Clunkers' spell. His head rolls backward to land on his back and bounce, rolling dramatically toward the group, while Varion's legs fall over, and his arm sags, adding its weight to the sword still in Korvash' gut.
Fiddler turns slightly, standing from a slight crouch, raising his shield just a bit, and says "All clear outside. I'm pretty sure he was alone." Before giggling like a ten year old discovering a stash of special magazines in the back of a barn. His nose starts to bleed - and you can tell because he got very little of Varion on him - and his eyes roll up in his head as he falls face forward onto the floor with a thump.
Ebony stares. "I ... I ... I think I miscast Bind Wounds. I killed them. I killed them all."
Korvash pulls the sword out of his gut, and flops over on his side, struggling to hold in his guts, and losing.
Ugh, they must keep their windows cleaner here than in Omega. Make sure nobody's looking inside and blink in. Then find a nice hidden perch on a chandelier or something, and take a farlook around for shinies.
Your first attempt to blink inside is met with a n odd sort of soft push, plopping you back outside the "magic barrier (I mean, window)." It was an unexpected resistance, but you think you can overcome it and blink inside, if you try again. You tilt your head quizzically, wondering, as much as a crow wonders, what that was all about.
