Fresh download, unzipped with 7zip then windows defender quarantines these two programs. It might just be because the way the programs function is similar to malware because of the way they access, and potentially edit memory, but I'm not sure. I thought I would create a post here to clarify.

I've Never had any problems with them (causing any form of malicious intent). My anti virus had also notice them but after looking around on df forums it was considered safe and a lot of people have mentioned it ages ago, but due to how they work it's going to flag up as you've already mentioned.
I must say I've never really ever had any trouble with moods unless I'm losing to an invasion which is expected seeing everyone die around you is bound to put you in a foul/sad/vengeful mood. I would like to see these happy thought workshops become necessary as I'm constantly never having to worry about mood management which is boring quite honestly. I agree with LMeire in that some workshops should make you unhappy (maybe a difficulty setting as he's also suggested) it would add a lot more flavor to the game.
Perhaps some reversals are in order, I mean, nobody is going to run a reaction that does nothing but upset the worker; but it could make an interesting side-effect for when the "harder ___" settings get put back in. Like adding disgust and frustration to the tanner and smelter reactions from working around the fumes etc.
