Holy hell please be civil American Politics thread
« on: July 27, 2016, 03:09:08 pm »

Please discuss American Politics here.

If any of you start the same arguments that ended the past ~8 threads, I will be very angry.

The other thread is not actually locked, do we need this thread? Things were going pretty ok until the random lurker just now, and that's not on anyone in particular

But perhaps there could be a need to separate the fed. election threads from a "general" US politics (and history) thread. For example, sometimes people want to bring up general policy and US political history. Those topics are really derails in the election threads, so they currently have no place that they feel at home. Perhaps this thread could be for that. US politics and history (Non Election) thread

Eh, they've been doing fine doing double duty the last few years. Having a backup ready to migrate to doesn't hurt that much, though.

IDK i think having a separate place to debate general political stuff and US history might be good to separate from the election specific stuff. Then if people start discussing JFK or Martin Luther King in the election thread, they can be steered here instead.

Actually, I'm sort of surprised we don't have any history threads.
