Name: Marisa
Age: She looks to be in her twenties? Dimension hopping across different timelines and stuff has made this a little funny.
Gender/Sex: F/F
Description: A beautifully proportioned woman, almost as if she stepped out of a painting, with long hair of a darkish blue tone that naturally falls in ringlets, without being overly curly. Her eyes are a somewhat unnatural yellow-golden color, reminiscent of brass, or perhaps a bright flame. She wears a black and white dress with an oversized, stereotypical witch's hat
(like this) with various hidden pockets for spell components. Usually she's got a grimoire or three on her somewhere, with descriptions ranging from "appears to be bound in solid rock and chains" to "possibly written on human parchment" to "a bright yellow and black cover with helpful, simple instructions."
Battle themePersonality: Despite what her appearance and profession may suggest, she is quite shy, almost painfully so. This doesn't stop her from actually interacting with others, and she is clever, almost frightfully so, if rather lacking in willpower. She's quite aware of the effects her appearance (combined with her shy mannerisms) have on others, but her somewhat asocial nature makes it difficult for her to consciously and competently utilize this. Marisa is not notably athletic, but a life consisting mostly of adventuring across the planes does leave you fairly fit and adept at basic survival skills.
Backstory: Marisa is a fairly experienced traveler and adventurer of a somewhat unusual sort. She is one of the few individuals with an inborn ability to travel mostly freely between the planes, and so has spent quite some time doing so, studying myriad varieties of magic for both pure academic interest and the practical applications of self-defense and freelance work of every variety imaginable. A knack for being in the right place at the right time - aided by keen observational and planning skills - meant she was mostly successful, and led a relatively carefree life despite her rather risky line of employment. She doesn't quite recall how she ended up here; the last few weeks of her life - by her own timeline - are rather jumbled and hazy. She surmises that she may have made a mistake and tried to jump "too far" across the planescape, winding up with her sort of falling through the cracks and severing her connection with her home planescape.
Other: She's particularly adept at summoning and/or binding magical creatures to her will, particularly ones whose home planes are high in latent energy - elementals, demons, angels, and the like. The difficulty of binding a creature is proportional both to its raw power and its intelligence, and can be facilitated with rituals and physical binding objects or just done with raw magical strength. Willpower is a factor as well, but also being smarter than what you're binding tends to help.
She can jump fairly freely between closely connected planes; ones that more or less exist in the same universe, such as jumping between a mundane world and it's Feywild, astral sea, etc. The further apart two worlds are conceptually, the harder it is for her to hop between them. She establishes a connection with each plane based on both the simple act of ever existing in it and on time spent in it, particularly if she performs actions that affect it meaningfully rather than just passing through. Most of these connections appear to have ceased functioning or possibly existing at all, however.
Besides these talents, she can perform a variety of minor arcana for convenience and self-defense, with her weapon of choice being a powerful ray created by essentially opening a hole to a bunch of different planes at once and letting the energy burst out in a chosen direction. She'll lose in melee to anyone actually trained in it, though, and shares the common weaknesses of spellcasters. If teleportation is somehow prevented it stops her from using a lot of her arsenal.
