Do you really blame her for running away when Ricchar was being so mean to her? :P

A little yes, a little no. My natural paranoia says that questioning all circumstances is perfectly reasonable and that we had plenty of time to be SURE, but I can definitely see how a logical course of action would be to escape the armed angry possibly crazy people before they do bad things to me (Bae). A Zone of Truth or two might have helped out some to encourage trust, but too little too late and all that.

I'm trying to think of how to track Bae down, but all of my options would require a rest period to change extracts, by which point she could be dead or worse. Anyone have any ideas?

While I remember, going the "restricting items to get a further cost reduction" route will lead to finding gear that is similarly restricted, correct?

Pretty sure an 8th-level (at least) sorcerer doesn't need much in the way of assistance, strictly speaking. Especially given that we were right by the city gates and everything.

This all has been going on for about 5 days apparently so she might not be the best supplied at the moment. Plus her spells could be rather unoptimal for the current situation, especially considering the numbers that could be faced. Pragmatically, Haeum Sung is going to want a survivor if any are available to provide information about the situation. Rescueing an 8th level sorcerer would probably look good as well. Presuming that the vampires haven't infiltrated our government signficantly at least.

@Sky: And because I constantly forget questions, are we being paid for this job? What's the standard rate and what are we being paid? Also, would a Spellcraft, Know: Religion, or Know: Arcana have recognized what caused the spell casting zombie to glow blue and/or cast spells? My meta suspicion is Spell stitched, due to the glowing and likely skill of the necromancer.

@All: Does anyone have Message or a similar spell such that we can let someone know what's going on?

Message is actually a cantrip, and it allows you to carry on a conversation at an DC 25 inaudible whisper within line of sight, which is what Bae was doing back there. You're thinking of Sending.

I would say that it looks like my D&D is seeping into my Pathfinder, but my gut says that it was Sending in 3.X as well.

sending is 4 for oracle and inquisitor, and 5 for alc/sorc.

I also get scrying at class level 8 due to being a psychonaut, and through which message can be cast at a 40% success rate (5% per caster level), which may be the soonest level wise we'll be able to have long distance communication, presuming divinations can enter Haeum Sung. That catch is that someone else who has message will have to drink the infusion to do the contacting.

yes, all jobs are paid. Never wondered why you have x2 WBL for a typical PC of your level? :3 you'll probably be paid a couple thousand for this job, maybe more if you convince them well.
All three of your Knowledge checks you listed will probably work. Look at PM.

I'm going to guess that hazard pay isn't a thing, or is accounted for in the couple thousand?

Lots of thoughts and planning. I'll have more to ramble about when I wake up.

I'm suddenly wondering... what happens if a dhampir is killed by energy drain from a vampire? Do they then turn into a vampire dhampir? @_@

In 3.X, negative levels gave undead (and those treated as such or who just were generally healed by negative wnergy) temp health, so that could a result depending on the effect.

It might be like Dagoth Ur in Morrowind, who is dead, in the afterlife, but reappears when dreaming, which is the opposite of regular people. A dhampir (alive, affinity toward negative energy) turned into a vampire might turn inverted as well (undead, affinity toward positive energy), which is the opposite of a regular undead.

Hm, do edgy positive energy undead exist in Pathfinder like D&D's deathless?

I remember seeing Deathless references somewhere in Pathfinder for a spell or two.

Edit: Incorrect, I was thinking of a feat chain off of Diehard.
