Next session we will have a few decisions to take, so might as well start throwing out some facts and ideas before the session, to hasten it rather than spending the whole session discussing.

First issue: What to do with the girl

1) Forget her

2)Track her
2a)capture her
2b)convince her to come with us
2c) convince her to leave town
2d)kill her

Facts:
1) she was in the city before us, claims to have been there since before the invasion happened. This makes her an important witness.
2)she claims to be a sorcerer, able to cast teleport
3)she is able to cast defensively quite well despite claiming not to be able to.
4)according to Ricchar, she is lying about her story
5)she is somewhere in a 800 feet radius
6)she robably hates Ricchar and surely don't trust him.
7) she hasn't, to our knowledge, hurt anyone yet nor revealed our position.

With that in mind, I think there is no reason to use the option 2d. That is exceedingly aggressive.

proposal 1 ( forget her) is certainly the easiest to achieve, which is a plus, but I also have the feeling that she holds important information which could be very useful to us or Haeum Sung. This is my fallback option in case we can't achieve anything else.

proposal 2a ( capture her) is going to be extremely hard to do, unless we are willing to risk a 2d scenario or we are willing to spend a lot of time in the city. plus, keeping her captive may not be easy without harm and it may be hard to convince the party to go along with it.

proposal 2b ( convince her) She is going to refuse to be anywhere near ricchar, but perhaps Max could convince her to get back to the city with at least some of us, so she can relay her story to authorities.

proposal 2c(convince her to leave) Honestly, I don't see why we should. we get nothing and she seems fully able to handle herself. between invisibility and dimension door, she will have no trouble exiting the town, if she so wishes.

proposal 2d(approach with deadly intent) As I discussed earlier, I don't think we should resort to that now. I am confident we can take her with a good attack but I see no reason to.

My vote would be 2b, if Max is willing to go along with it.

Second issue: Fight or Flight

1) stay in town, kill some undead

2)Leave and report to Haeum sung

Facts:
1)The city is overrun, most  of its population probably turned into some kind of undead
2)There is a significant intelligent vampire presence
3)We are relatively safe tanks to our hiding spells
4)There is a miracle farm nearby in which at least some vampire spawns reside
Opinions:
5)Sending information to the city is important. If we all die, this will be trouble
6)The more we stay, the more useful information we might gather

proposal 1 ( stay and fight a bit) Is potentially quite dangerous, although certainly most rewarding. In this case I advise to brief the drivers, so that if we die word can still get out. On the plus side, we have a whole city's worth of supplies all for us in the wagons

proposal 2(Leave and report) Safer, less rewards, likely we will still have to get back to the town after we report.

In this case, I would vote 1, unless we face extreme danger or we spend a lot of time tracking the girl.

What are your opinions on the matter? do you have any other course of action to propose, or other thoughts?

edit: also, we might want to choose a leader among us to take decisions in time critical situations.

Shout your vote as you plunge through a nearby window on fire.

Also, Max would be in favor of not really bothering Bae anymore, and also, now that he thinks about it, that there's probably not all that much point screwing around with the vampire population. Looking for other survivors, sure. Torching farms, probably nah.

My character would definitely want to purge all the undead too. I would also want to find the girl to find out more about what happened in Ara Sung. Kill undead first though. Then we can show her that it's safe!

My vote on the matter depends on if scrying can enter Haeum Sung. If it can and we can get about 20k of XP while here, then we can scry home and through Message (if that spell is had by anyone) let someone we trust know what's happening. I'm thinking the Robe of Holding person whom Matty would remember the name of due to having a mich higher Int than I do.

If the above is the case, then I would go for 2b and proposal 1, presuming we make efforts to secure the civilians. I'm thinking something like spending a day pulling the civilians back and using some magic to provide them with protection. I can provide them with 5 potions of CL 1 Hide From Undead without affecting our resources, and we might be able to set up some other things perhaps. After that, we can spend a day or two exploring the city to see what we can discover and recover.

I'm gonna roll with 1, 1 here

Edit: what sorta spells you looking at picking up in the next couple levels HB? So I can plan and see how many spells I can pick up that are less directly useful in combat.

I don't think anyone has Sending, and Message has a range of like 400ft.

Message can be cast through Scry. As we'd need to be 8th level to cast it, it would have a 40% (8 x 5%) chance of working, but that just means we'll have to cast it til it works.

huh, didn't know that. Sadly Scry is definitely blocked, can't have them intelligent spellcaster undeads peeking in.

And scry is creature specific not location.

I vote for recovery of Bae, securing the civilians, exploring/combating for a day (I can provide 5 140 minute Hide Undeads without spending anything besides extracts and daily abilities, and can use 4 potions to that same effect before running out of juice for the day), and then GTFO to let Haeum Sung know what's up.

I'm willing to commit to 2 days if the plan is to use the first day to mark targets/rescue people and the second to strike those targets. Beyond that I'll need a convincing. Majority vote in favor for staying longer will count as convincing if we're able to secure the civilians in a reasonable manner.

Black Tentacles, Confusion, maybe Dimension Door, in that order. Possibly Fireball for the explosions. Oh, and I'll be getting Animate Dead as a bloodline spell.
