[Katzerie, the Token God]
Katz looks at the progress, the frame is almost done (still a lot to get done). The mountings for the great ballistae are getting done.
"Actually, I don't think you know of that. Those are for ballistae, they're like bows, just bigger, and can be held loaded for long."
Katz teaches the Kattavs about Ballistae and crossbows.
Katz teaches the Kattavs about mechanical operation, especially the workings of gears and cogwheels.
"A big ballista will be mounted here, and the indentations are where gears will go. Making a stable weapon platform, while allowing us to turn it easily.
You just need to use these... hand cranks, to adjust the angles. For the small ones, you can just aim manually, they turn on a swivel."
The 2 great ballistae will be aimed in a way similar to a howitzer, with a vertical and a horizontal crank.
The smaller ballistae will be aimed like those cannons on swivels, though with more accounting for drop.
Katz makes a great carpenters workshop on the island, with some woodworking tools, like workbenches, chisels, sandpaper, etc.
Katz summons some Stripewood and Thundergrape wood, from Jakatt lands, to the island, to be used in making the ship.
Katz creates Emberglass, a red metal which is warm to the touch. It is also partially see through.
Emberglass looks unique, and also lets the craftsman easily see any imperfections. Perfectly made Emberglass, is almost completely transparent.
Emberglass rettains it's forged form, if you bend it, it flexes back into position. Making it good for springs.
If alloyed with a hard metal, it can both be flexible and hard, making good swords and crossbow limbs.
Katz distributes Emberglass among the 2-4G layers of the mountain.
Katz summons some Emberglass and Iron to the shipyard, for use.
"Make an alloy of these, and use it for the ballistae limbs."
Katz will teach the Kattavs how to make Embersteel, an Emberglass and Iron alloy, which is flexible yet strong.
