Tick 5.0: LeapsLandria has given the throne-maker more Saland.
Landria has taught the Terminae about plate armor. Their necromancers appear to have begun creating more advanced undead, all the while mocking death in their usual undersane way.
Steady progress is being made on the connection between Jannah and the Terminae. Softly glowing tracks keeping the glow of the forge light the floor of the underground portion of the connection. A group consisting mostly of Terminae and Ishim are currently testing out various mechanisms of transport, and magical engines drawing from the nearest leyline seem to be the most efficient option at the moment.
Landria continues to cheer for more technological development on the part of the Shimmerhands and Anansi.
Fortuna responds to prayers:
Concerned Fhortan citizen: "But even when they believe in it, they still fail!"
Fhortan gambler: "If you consume your Essence, I open a gambling house. If you fail to consume your Essence, I become Chief Roller of the Fhortan!"
Fhortan astrologer: "Everyone already knows LYT will rise every day. I need some way to make it more
fun for my...clients."
((hector13: Fixed))
Fortuna suggests that stars be put up to make things more interesting, which Landria opposes. Landria maintains support for Wstfgl becoming the moon.
Katzerie has created the Sky Wolves, large, flying wolves that hunt in the sky. Katzerie also checks on the Dagomoths and finds that they are doing fine, spreading sharp crystals all over their dwellings both as art and as animal traps.
Mani responds to some prayers:
Anansi explorer: "What's with their optics?"
Mani has attached braking rotors to the rolling tester's body. One of them snaps off while negotiating a cliff, but the tester finally slows to a stop, dazed, disoriented, and feeling light-bodied.
Anansi builder: "That explains LYT's name! How scandalous!"
Zenrach has created two units of Turistians. (Zenrach: -8E) Zenrach was incapacitated by the effort.
Xislo has expanded leyline coverage using 5E. (Xislo: -5E) Gandtrael has contributed 2E toward the leylines, attempting to make them mind leylines. (Gandtrael: -2E) The leylines are now past half-finished.
The White/Blue branch appear to be concentrating their efforts on making mana wells for the purpose of making leyline magic more accessible. The Red school have been encouraged to promote their services as bodyguards for explorers.
LIGHT has created THE HEAVENS to allow the faithful to become stars, generally barely visible.
LIGHT has taught the Maisse about navigation techniques based on LIGHT, the Sharim about artificial crystals, using salty irrigation as a demonstration, taught the Hastani about scientific rigor, and taught the sighted Terminae effective light placement.
*The LIGHT looks through the Sharim, Maisse, and Hastani, inspecting their civilizations. The Sharim seem not to have gained a strong identity, generally assimilating into other races' systems and using their unique talents as applicable. The settled Maisse, too, have mostly blended with the rest of the people of Jannah, although they engage in various LIGHT-specific practices, including greeting LIGHT at sunrise, praising LIGHT at noon, and parting with LIGHT at sunset. The nomadic Maisse have adopted a geriarchical system, turning to the oldest Maisse fit to lead to make decisions on their travels, to represent themselves in meetings with others, to decide the settled-nomadic balance of Maisse and to commune with LIGHT on their behalf. Their practices with regards to LIGHT are similar to those of the settled Maisse, but most include an hour of calling for LIGHT to come before sunrise.
*NCU
The LIGHT has chosen a champion who best demonstrates martial ability, scholarship, and integrity! (LIGHT: -11E)
Mumuski has created the Choir Invisible, an afterlife which, at its closest to the mortal realms, leaks appropriate background music.
The Zwerg seem to be doing well technologically, still being occasionally challenged by the beastmen raids. They have come up with new building techniques and fortifications directed toward hampering beastmen attacks.
Captain Praven inspects the cloud and finds, on board the first captain's ship, a lingering Molski saboteur in front of a new anchor holding a torch near what was once Praven-spawned rotting blubber. The sails are noticeably more damaged than they should be. Captain Praven congratulates the magnet for the magical success and offers treasure in exchange for disclosing the method.
New anchor?: <Harr, I was still on deck with a torch and dropped the torch when the water came in aharr yarharr! Wharrr's my loot?>
Gandtrael continues the telepathy campaign, which is drawing increasing suspicion from the more magically familiar races. The Gratacans have started building the Gratacan Academy of Modern Research. Gandtrael has sent circuses out to the races and ordered the Gratacans to mine heavily. The most pious have begun building shrines everywhere, and the Gratacans have begun forming a decent military. The more adventurous have been sent out to sign up with pirate crews.
Sadiq has founded the Mechanical Madrassah, essentially a living mechanical building, in Jannah's Gold district, and it quickly becomes a popular tourist destination and pilgrimage site for the mechanically minded. The Arch-Chancellor Culler-In-Red and Personal Assistant Stubber-of-Ponds lead the studies there -_-. Sadiq has also founded the Greater Jannah Educational Institute, a more general educational Scorim-led program which Sadiq has boosted. (Sadiq: -1E)
The Ishim have been taught again about waterwheels and windmills. Following a fit of railroad mania on Sadiq's part, the Scorim have carpeted Jannah with rails, although there are no official vehicles to travel on the rails yet. Perhaps inspired by the unexpected appearance of rotting vegetables and carcasses at the Djinnmarket, Sadiq has begun encouraging a pharmaceuticals industry in Jannah.
Sadiq listens to his friends' prayers:
Ishim administrator: "Friend Sadiq, tell the people that they cannot keep sending trash to the Djinnmarket!"
Sharim scribe: <Our paper is heavier and larger than the others' paper. What should we do to fix this?>
Scorim engineer: "How does no one else know about anything!?"
There are unconfirmed rumors of magnets meeting together in secret, plotting to overthrow the gods.
Mani attempts to twist Captain Praven's investigation.
Mani has sent explicitly pre-designed plans for thin metal caps enchanted against telepathy.
