$$$

Proce check on various rare plants that grant the finder some degree of Luck that get correlatingly harder to find the more divine help that a being receives - including racial characteristics for that kind of thing.

It's difficult to accept your preference when you were engaging other gods and their creations, and then throwing your toys out the pram once they responded.
He was objecting to the style I intend to play once I get back in the game which is where the preference comes in, not the playstyle I was engaging in prior to this whole debacle.

There's no Council this time 'round so there's much less in the way of godly politics.
And yet what little there was resulted in me losing most of my worshippers, almost all of my Essence, the most expensive thing I have ever created, and my very ability to act in secret.

YG isn't a roleplay intensive game, but at least a small amount is fun.
Sometimes. Sometimes a small amount is fun. There was a small amount of roleplay here and it was far, far from fun for me.

The complete radio-silence from Death made him a complete turn-off for me.
We all have our turn-offs. You want to know mine? Stupid shit. In YG0, we had a massive godly war of truly epic proportions. I spend days and weeks imagining the whole thing in my head. Great armies and powerful champions in a giant battle. That battle ended with an explosion out of nowhere, my most powerful archangel dying not in a climactic battle with Tykki or at least some other champion, but stupid fucking flying monkeys out of nowhere.

In YG4, now, everything I worked for gone because of some stupid coloured streaks, a stupid wisecracking undead dragon, and some stupid shark in a bubble of water. You want to talk about roleplay? Here's the God of Death embroiled in a theoretically dramatic and intriguing plot of genocide and necromancy, all of it ended by the most utterly stupid and random crap. That perhaps is what I hate most of all about Ye Gods. I get invested, I put effort and Essence and weeks into something and I take pride in it, then it's ended in an instant by a clown and an exploding pie come from absolutely fucking nowhere.

Ah. It seems you're taking YG too seriously. It seems to fundamentally be a light-hearted game. My own races have been doing some incredibly silly things, like getting themselves chopped up by jet engines they're trying to make. This is just the tone of the game. In the end it's all about framing. You're simply not seeing enough of the picture.

In the darkness Death struck out, killing those who would pervert his domain and bring back shambling mockeries of all he stood for, destroying their very souls, bringing them true death and ending so that they could no longer carry out these atrocities.

In even deeper shadows, a throne of gears and clockwork heard word of this from her faithful attendants, and began to spin into action. Missives were sent out to fellow gods, many of which were willing to aid her in bringing vengeance upon the one who did this.

It had taken many ticks, false leads and failed attempts, but finally, finally they had managed to locate Death's Sanctum, his fortress. Surely here they could at last force an engagement.

The large and mighty Dos, sinister dragon of bone and machinery, a walking offence to everything Death stood for, came bearing the fearsome architect of the Daoine's destruction lying in the crook of one of his mighty arms.

With a thundering echoes Dos hammered at the keep. A voice from within demanded identification. Dos responded with rapier wit and a humorous tone, attempting to put the overwhelming foe he was up against off-guard.

Death was not fooled by the Dragon's wordplay however. In desperation, Dos' master consulted with powerful oracles and seers, who advised searching within the ocean for the key to catching Death.

So in the ocean they searched, and found a seemingly mundane shark. Believing they had located the key, the shark was brought to Death's Sanctum, in an attempt to once more accomplish their ancient ambition, and right the wrongs Death had committed.

Once more Dos knocks, but Death seemed to have grown weary of this annoyance and ignored it.

So Dos set the Architect of Destruction to orbiting Death's Fortress, in hopes that success will come with patience.

And then Death strikes, and in striking, loses.

The shark looks on knowingly, as a hunter who had just seen a successful hunt against the greatest of prey

Is Dos' skull still split in half and held together by string?
I think an undead dragon got it's skull split in half at some point.

Dos is dead. Death killed him. People die when they are killed by Death. Death

Could the dead undead dragon still be revived and become the undead undead dragon?

Shall they implement a Mongrel soul into its body? They are quite an intellectual race.

Nah, it's not that. I understand that YG isn't a serious game with deep plot and characterisation and all that, but to me it's not something that can just be played on a whim. When it comes down to it, I want to do cool things that I have fun imagining in my head.

It's not "The combined might of the Human God's strongest creations, fused into a being of unmatched power to face the might of the mightiest of all archangels", it's "Holy crap I got this insanely powerful archangel fighting the most powerful archangel of all time and it's gonna be the most awesome fight in the entire game!" It took months of real time to build all that up and for it to have ended the way it did...it was disappointing to say the least.

This time there wasn't any build up to a final confrontation or anything, but to have lost so much, almost a month's worth of build up to a gag? The grim reaper in his fortress, defeated not by something awesome or amazing or even clever, but some cheap joke with all the humour of a fart noise. It felt like my defeat was worth nothing and I lost so damn much of something I had sunk a very large amount of time into.

People die when they are killed by Death.
This at least made me laugh.

Heroes respawn. I didn't permakill the dragon seeing as it was an undead construct rather than a necromancer so it'll come back on its own after a few Ticks.

I will repeat myself. You are simply not seeing enough of the picture. There was a lot of buildup behind the scenes, and multiple failed attempts. The consulting of the seers really happened, and that is really how the shark appeared. It is not some lolrandom joke.

The slightly humorous tone that was used to speak is not some flaw that ruins everything, it's some welcome levity in the middle of a vicious shadow-war that has been going on for several ticks.

The fact that you see fit to disparage others like this for no good reason just makes you look like a sore loser, and honestly a bit of a asshole.

Dos was stated to probably not be respawning.

I'm speaking from my own perspective, my own experience. There was a lot of buildup for you, but as far as everything that I personally went through it was sudden and out of place. For you the event was some welcome lightheartedness for the things you went through, but to me it was a humourless joke making fun of all I'd worked for. What it is is different for different people, there's nothing objective about it.

I don't disparage you or the others involved. You didn't do anything wrong and the event is only bad from my perspective and bad for me only.

multiple failed attempts.
I'm curious, but how did you fail to find my afterlife? I made my afterlife hard to enter but I didn't hide it and I'm pretty sure I made the afterlife as a public action. Heck, it's not even like my Essence-charged attempts to keep myself hidden when I left ever worked. "An invisible black cloak" is what the GM said I looked like when I asked how they detected me.

Dos was stated to probably not be respawning.
Just saying it's not me.

You're disparaging us by saying our days of efforts and at least two sleepless nights are nothing more than a gag and cheap joke, and not at all worthy of having caught the great and super-awesome Death.

Broadcast: A working release of YGgdrashell (requires Python >=3.0) has been released. Feel free to post for help, features, and bug fixes.

Andres:
Permakills?: Considering the secret stuff that went on for most of the game before and the actual necromantic abominations, yes
    Return: Confirm return?
Min-maxing: Hmm, that is frowned upon :o

How would his return work KJP?

And there have been a few pricechecks in this thread with no response
