Geld Dog announcement spam
« on: July 20, 2016, 09:58:46 pm »

I am confused about what is going on...  In dwarf therapist I have many dogs assigned for Gelding.  Many have been Gelded, but their are a few trouble pooches.  They are all located in the same spot awaiting Gelding and as I said many have been Gelded, but now I continually get Cancellation Spam.

Any ideas guys?

It's a deficiency in DT: If you try to geld an animal that's already gelded you get this spam. DT doesn't properly recognize a gelded animal can not be gelded, and so orders DF to geld it if you're "careless" enough to give that order, which leads to the spam. If I recall correctly, enabling an "I am a dirty cheater" option to see all wounds before diagnosis causes DT to recognize the gelding "damage" and disallow gelding of a gelded animal. I had exactly this problem a few months back.

thanks Patrik, you are a Gentleman and a Scholar!

That not only sucks, but makes perfect sense!  I was wondering why there was no "recognition" of who/what had been Gelded in Dwarf Therapist.

The easy solution is just to butcher the dog in question. Also works for dog-transmitted syndromes and to avoid overworking the medical team.

Elves do it in trees. Humans do it in wooden structures. Dwarves? Dwarves do it underground. With magma.
